Recipe Schema Not Working Properly

    Hello!

    I run a recipe site and since Google emailed me to change all posts to the recipe schema I tried to do that with Rank Math. However, when I put the text into the Instruction Type field (any of them, for that matter) and update the post, the page displays a single chunk of text, instead of consecutive steps.

    When I right-click and go to Inspect Element on the post page, I see quotation marks at the beginning and end of the instructions. Shouldn’t there be <p> at the beginning and </p> at the end of each paragraph?

    Can you please help me fix this issue. I want to continue using RankMath; I like it and got used to it. But I really need to get this done as soon as possible.

    Please enable the Beta update by following this:

    If you are unable to see an update, please clear Rank Math’s transients from:
    WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Remove Rank Math Transients > Remove transients

    Please clear the caches, server, and WordPress after updating.

    I was away and unable to implement the changes you suggested. I gave you guys access to the site. Why didn’t you do it yourselves?

    Anyway, I’ll do it right away. Nevertheless, I just received this message from Google minutes ago: more errors

    Whereas I understood what they referred to in the previous warning messages, I can’t make any sense of this one.

    I just made the changes you guys recommended but no update request appeared for Rank Math.

    I need these fixes to be done and for Google to accept them. This is my money site, I’m sure you understand.

    I have 45 pages to move to the recipe schema. My site has already lost 5 positions in Serps since these warnings started. How can I proceed with the rest and start to fix my ranking if this stuff doesn’t work?

    Please test all other possible errors for this schema type. You have the sensitive data to access my site. I authorize you to make any necessary changes.

    Hello,

    About 1 and 2, those are optional and are only warnings as you can see in the screenshots you shared.

    We do not have an option to add those values and not having them does not affect the ability of your website to have Rich Snippets in Google.

    For the 3rd issue with errors, we have already fixed it in the latest version of Rank Math:

    Please update if you haven’t yet or share the URL of the Recipe post where you are seeing this issue in the SDTT:

    It all seems to be Ok with the URLs I’ve submitted but before I can give you a final answer I have to updated all recipes to the schema and see how that goes.

    I started to work on the updates but as I have to do it manually for 50 posts, it takes some time. Then I have to wait for Google to re-crawl the entire site. But so far, everything seems to be OK. 🙂
