ACF

  • Hi, I am trying to turn on ACF but it stays inactive. I can see the new ACF module in my Rank Math dashboard and trying to turn it on. What have I missed?

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    You need to have ACF activated on your site for this option to be available. Could you please let us know whether you have the standalone ACF plugin activated or it is bundled in one of your plugins/theme?

    Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi, Michael,

    I received an email and followed instructions to update. I can see ACF in the dashboard but can’t activate it. Do I need a standalone plugin? Can you provide link?

    Hello,

    Thanks for getting back to us.

    We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

    It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    Temporary Login Without Password

    You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

    I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi Wesley,

    Thanks for getting back to us.

    Rank Math is currently unable to detect ACF if it is bundled in a theme which is the case on your site. I have made a change in Rank Math on your site by modifying the module settings in seo-by-rank-math/includes/module/class-manager.php to the following:

    $modules['acf'] = [
    			'title'         => esc_html__( 'ACF', 'rank-math' ),
    			'desc' => esc_html__( 'ACF support helps Rank Math SEO read and analyze content written in the Advanced Custom Fields. If your theme uses ACF, you should enable this option.', 'rank-math' ),
    			'class'         => 'RankMath\ACF\ACF',
    			'icon'          => 'dashicons-text',
    			'disabled'      => false,
    			'disabled_text' => esc_html__( 'Please activate ACF plugin to use this module.', 'rank-math' ),
    		];

    This has also been raised with our dev team and you can expect a fix to be available in upcoming updates.

    I hope this info helps. Thank you.

    Hi, Michael

    I am a little confused as I thought RankMath was now compatable with my theme – see here

    Rank Math SEO Plugin for WordPress. Is it worth trying?

    Plus, pluse can you clarify what the changes you have made will do?

    Thanks, Wes

    Hi Wesley,

    Thanks for the question.

    Yes Rank Math is now able to analyse content within ACF fields. The problem is arising from the fact that the ACF module which is disabled by default does not detect the ACF plugin when it is bundled in a theme. It currently checks if its installed as a standalone plugin.
    I have made the change in the plugin code to enable this module so that Rank Math can be able to analyse ACF content.

    I hope this info helps. Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for making the change in the plugin code but it looks like ACF content still isn’t being seen.

    For example, this page https://wessimpson-weddings.com/gallery/celebrity-and-famous-faces
    RarkMath SEO ‘additional’ is saying “Focus Keyword not found in subheading(s) like H2, H3, H4, etc..” But this page has a title and subtile at the top of the page and when I inspect elements I see H2 H3. Please can you clarify things for me?

    Hi Michael,
    In addition to the above, my home page H1 title (single line of text) is being read x3 times.

    I have raised these issues on my themes facebook page (Flowtheme) and tagged RankMarh in the thread as there seem to be conflicting responses.

    It also appears RankMath isn’t reading any ACF in regards to page titles H2-5. In addition to this Flowtheme are saying RankMath is compatible and after communication with rankMath have released an update. They advised that I don’t need the ‘code’ you added and this might cause problems.

    As you can appreciate, I am really confused, especially as they are now advising me to use other analysis tools.

    Please, can you advise and provide clarity.

    Hello,

    Thank you for getting back to us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Kindly allow me to consult the dev team on this and then I’ll get back to you.

    Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

    Thank you for investigating this and consulting the dev team.

    It appears the home page H1 is a bug with that ‘block’ whithin my theme. I am looking to fix this.
    However, RankMath is missing a number of ACF title blocks and presenting “No H2/3” etc warning.

    Take these pages for exaple:

    About Wes Simpson

    Portfolio

    However H2/3 are being read within wordpress blocks.

    Also I have just recieved this email warning:
    Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site and notifies you with this automated email.

    In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Rank Math SEO.

    First, visit your website (https://wessimpson-weddings.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://wessimpson-weddings.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=rank-math-seo-analysis) and check for any visible issues.

    Hi Wesley,

    I appreciate your input.

    We have sent an email to the dev. team of FloThemes as well. It appears as though Rank Math doesn’t read the ACF of your Porto theme.

    We will update you once we hear a reply from them.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Hi Todd,

    I hope there is a fix, as I love RankMath.

    Whilst waiting for repky from FloTheme can you help with error warning I now have?
