404 monitor and redirections do not work

  • Hi, I am writing to communicate that, even if the plugin is configured well (I followed the guide perfectly), there are anomalies in the 404 monitor and in the redirections. In the first case, there are some very strange 404 errors including my home page (my home page link is detected as an error in the 404 monitor). This is very strange because the link on my home page works perfectly. I tried to create a 404 link with a link that doesn’t exist on my site but the monitor doesn’t detect it. I have redirected links with error 404 but they do not work except those made with yoast seo.
    Thanks for your help

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I have been able to replicate your issue. Please allow us sometime to dig deeper in to this issue.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi Micheal,

what does it mean to replicate the problem?
I take advantage of this open support to know something else. I recently installed the “Photo Gallery by 10Web” plug-in (it’s a plug-in for the image gallery). After installing the plug-in and recreating the image galleries in the articles, the rank math plugin tells me “We detected new post type (s) (bwg_gallery, bwg_album, bwg_tag), and you would want to check the settings of Titles & Meta page and the Sitemap. ” In fact now in the articles with the new image galleries of the plugin, the images are not indexed. What should I configure?
    Thanks for the support

    Hello,

It just means that my colleague was also able to see that issue that you were reporting.

However, there is no solution to this issue right now. Because, Rank Math cannot create redirects for folders like wp-admin, wp-includes. That’s because they are handled in a different way than the regular 404s.

That this means in layman terms is that you cannot redirect wp-admin/js/404.php to any URL using Rank Math.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

The original ticket got closed as ‘solved’ however the issue was never resolved. Are there any updates maybe? Thank you.

    Rgs,
    Pieter

    Hello,

the unresolved problem is not just one. In the ticket I described them. I opened this ticket to solve them. There are no updates.

    Hi Federico,

We use wp hook to trigger the redirection which does not run in admin and /wp-admin is an admin page.

You can redirect using .htaccess if it is important to you but redirecting admin files is not recommended and not required either.

You should only redirect URLs that your visitors are seeing because you deleted a page or a page is no longer working.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
