Urgent HELP – Google Search Console Issue

    Hello Rankmath support team! This is Donald, one of your happy Rankmath plugin users.

    I’m currently experiencing an issue within my GSC.

    Ever since I re-installed Rankmath back into my WordPress blog like 1-2 weeks ago, I’ve been noticing that my data on GSC has stopped updating.

    The only thing I noticed was that it keeps changing the dates as usual but stopped showing the correspondence data specific to each day. Please, see the screenshots to see what I mean.

    Another thing is all my FAQ, Breadcrumbs, Sitelinks Searchbox in the enhancement has dropped close to almost zero. You can check the screenshot for this as well.

    I tried to comprehend why this happening but find it hard to make any guess.

    Is it because I moved Yoast to the Rankmath plugin? I don’t know at all.

    Please, what do you think I can do to resolves this issue once and for all.

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    Assuming you have your website set to index and no errors on your GSC, it could be hard to know what exactly caused that sudden drop of the data.

    Could you please also share your website’s URL to check this issue further?

    Hello,

    I checked the source code of your homepage and sitelinks searchbox schema is already applied to that page.

    Rank Math adds the Sitelinks search box only to the homepage as it only needs to be present on the homepage as per Google’s guidelines which is why you are seeing a drop in sitelinks in GSC:
    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/sitelinks-searchbox#guidelines

    However, I did notice that the Breadcrumbs are missing from the pages, please enable Advanced Mode in the Rank Math dashboard:
    advanced mode

    Then, head over to Rank Math > General Settings > Breadcrumbs > Turn on breadcrumbs

    For FAQs, did you import the FAQ blocks from Yoast when you migrated from Yoast?
    You can do that by going to Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Yoast Block Converter > Convert Blocks

    So now, will this reset and be able to help correct the sudden loss of the web click data that’s stopped updating since the day I activated Rankmath plugin?

    Yes, that should fix the issue with the loss of web clicks data in your GSC. You also have two peaks in your search clicks (from the 12th of April), but apart from that, it all seems consistent.

    We also noticed that your site’s not yet connected to your Rank Math account. In this case, please reconnect by following the steps in this link:

    The second issue I had with my GSC account is Sitemap.

    Even though it’s updating, fetching and indexing links from my Sitemap url, however, the GSC is showing two sitemaps together anytime I check an indexed contents from link inspection tool.

    Like this:

    https//:…/Sitemap
    https//:…/wp-sitemap

    It’s listing and showing them together like that

    I’m currently away from my computer would have sent you the screenshot, which I’m going to quickly send it as soon as I get back to home.

    What is the way out of this guys?

    Thank you for that information.

    Your sitemap_index.xml seems to work fine. However, the sitemap.xml is just redirecting to your homepage. In this case, you can add this redirect to your .htaccess in this link:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/fix-sitemap-issues/#apache-error

    Once done, please clear your site’s cache and check again. The sitemap.xml should be redirected to sitemap_index.xml

    Hello Reinelle,

    I checked if my Sitemap.xml really need the redirection with this “domain.com?sitemap=1” and it does redirect to my original sitemap.

    So now can I actually find this .htaccess to upload the redirection code?

    Do i need to contact my hosting company to get this done.

    Thank you for getting back to us.

    Well, if you can not have access to your site’s file manager you can proceed to contact your host provider to have the code inserted into your .htaccess file.

    If you are familiar with and have access to it then you can add the code yourself. This file is located in the root folder of your website.
