The generated sitemap takes forever to load in the browser

#58522
  • I submitted the sitemap generated by RankMath to Google Search Console and it shows “Couldn’t fetch” error.

    1) I tried loading the XML file https://www.meghaskitchen.ml/sitemap_index.xml in firefox browser. It takes forever to download in Fire Fox Browser (the tab icon on the upper left shows animated dot showing that it is working on downloading the URL), I cannot even right click to get to “View Page Source” menu item.
    2) On Google Chrome I am able to see the sitemap XML loaded.
    3) On Microsoft Edge I am able to see the sitemap XML loaded.

  • Same issue with Incognito mode.

Is my issue going to get solved at all?

I feel foolish to go back and forth with checking this or that, but no real solution. I even submitted my admin user id and password so you can check if something is wrong.

    I am loosing patience.

My problem is still there Google search console gives me an error “Couldn’t fetch” and I don’t know what is causing it. and what is the solution to the same.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I have checked and all settings seem fine n your site. Please do the following:

    1. Head over to your GSC and remove the submitted sitemap.
    2. On your site navigate to Rank math > General settings > Search console, delete the console cache and deauthorize your site from Rank math, then click save.
    3. Hard refresh you browser and authorize your site again. It is likely to show you empty caches if you had deleted them, this should not worry you. Click on update manually.
    4. Navigate to Rank math > Search console and check if your authorization reflects in the overview section.
5 If there is no issue so far, clear your site cache then head to GSC and resubmit your /sitemap_index.xml.

That should fix your issue. Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the add.

    Please check this screenshot:

We temporarily installed the XML Sitemaps plugin on your website to confirm that this is not a Rank Math issue but rather a Google issue.

As you can see, the couldn’t fetch shows even when you use another plugin to generate sitemaps.

Please take a look at my previous reply for an explanation.

For now, you can simply ignore this as it is coming from Google and there isn’t much you can do to tell Google to not show that error.

    Ok.

Why is RankMath showing the following

'https://www.meghaskitchen.ml/sitemap_index.xml' is not a sitemap index.

when I click on RankMath | Search Console | Keyword Tracker

    Hello,

Well, it probably is for the same reason as my colleague explained:

Since Rank Math is using there the Search Console API and it seems it is not working fine for some reason, you also have there the issue, but if you navigate to that sitemap URL, you will see it loads perfectly fine and it is a valid sitemap (you can check it using this tool: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html), so in reality, everything is working fine.

    Looking forward to help you.

Also the “RankMath | URL Redirect” is not working.

    Hello,

Could you give us some examples of the URL redirections that are not working? You can share the links in the Sensitive Data section.

Also, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

That source URL would not work.

You can only setup redirects on your current website.

If you have installed Rank Math on Kithen.ml, you can only redirect URLs that contain Kithen.ml. You cannot redirect something from Kithen.cf if Rank Math is installed on Kithen.ml

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
