    It seems that the Hummingbird caching is still in effect on the sitemap.

    You need to make sure that the correct settings to exclude it completely have been applied and if that still doesn’t help we suggest getting in touch with the Hummingbird team to get assistance on disabling this on the XML sitemaps completely.

    Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    I’ve tried fixing the caching issue. Can you please confirm it for me again?


    I checked but was unable to see a difference. Hummingbird still seems to be caching the sitemaps. Please have a look at this screencast for a quick reference:

    Due to this, an error has also started to show on your sitemaps which can be seen in the above screencast.

    Please reach out to the Hummingbird team and ask them to fully exclude the sitemaps to fix the issue. Any URL with the word sitemap can also be excluded.

    Alright, they’ve fixed it for me and it’s showing just fine from my end here… can you please confirm from your end?


    I checked and the sitemaps now seem to be working properly.

    Please follow the below steps and see if that helps:
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

    2. Please exclude the Sitemap files of Rank Math from the caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:

    3. Clear your website’s cache and remove all the sitemaps from your Google Search Console account, and then submit only the main sitemap: /sitemap_index.xml

    Here’s a guide with more details:

    Further, give Google some time to crawl your website again and see if that helps.

    I’ve added the /sitemap_index.xml sitemap.. And seem to be working just fine for the past 5 days… I’ll mark this ticket as solved.
