Hi,
I have now updated the sensitive data with some screenshots.
The first one shows the outdated version of the sitemap. I know this is outdated because the most recently updated post is from 2 months ago, which coincides with when I switched to rank math.
The second one shows the updated version of the sitemap, which has recently published posts in it.
If I open the sitemap in incognito, when I hit refresh it alternates between these two versions.
However, I am using Content King to check for errors, and it shows pages are missing from the sitemap (third image link), so it seems the version being picked up by crawlers is outdated, and of course it’s not great to have two versions of the sitemap loading anyway.
Since my last message I have:
– Disabled rank math sitemap caching using functions.php
– Manually deleted the rank math cache
– Saved permalinks
– Saved sitemap settings
– Deleted and reinstalled rank math
And the problem persists.

Hi,
I have now disabled the rank math module and tried Google XML sitemap generator. I have attached a screenshot to the sensitive data box.
The google xml sitemap generator is in a slightly different format, but it shows the most recent posts in the sitemap. Furthermore, if I hit refresh, the sitemap does not change.
I have now re-enabled the rank math module, saved permalinks, and the same thing is happening.

I have been checking the website and it seems when the user is logged, the sitemap is always updated (I tried to create a new post and it was immediately added to the post sitemap) but when you are not logged (like in Incognito mode), it uses the cached sitemap.
Since you set WP Rocket to don’t cache it, it seems it is Cloudflare caching it, so you should add some exception in Cloudflare to don’t cache your sitemaps. Hi,
I have now set this up in Cloudflare and the issue is still there. I have purged the entire cache in Cloudflare.
If it is because of Cloudflare, I’m not sure Cloudflare would keep a copy in the cache that is over 2 months old? I could understand if it was a day or two and the cache hadn’t refreshed but it is a lot longer than that.

Could you check to turn the Development mode On in Cloudflare and then check in an Incognito tab if the issue is fixed? https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200168246-Understanding-Cloudflare-Development-Mode
If that is the case, it would mean the trouble is in Cloudflare and we should check on its settings.

After everything I realised it was the advertising network I am using, Ezoic. It has a cache setting but I didn’t know it was turned on.
