  • Hello,

    Sorry about that.

Can you please let us know how you are checking that the sitemap is not updated? A screenshot will help us understand better.

We assume you have already tried removing the sitemap, clearing the cache, and adding it again.

I have tried clearing the cache multiple times and removing and adding the sitemap but the sitemap is still not getting updated. You can see in the screenshot discovered pages are showing 47 while they are around 100 pages.Screenshot

    Hello,

It seems that you have shared an invalid link for the screenshot.

Could you please upload the photo using this tool? https://imgur.com/upload

Once done, add the generated link here so we can check it as well.

Meanwhile, please use the Inspector tool of the links that are not showing in your sitemap to know the status:

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I’ve checked your latest post, and it is already indexed.

    Latest

Each time Google uses a sitemap to find a URL, the count of the Discovered URLs increases by one. When the count of the Discovered URLs is zero or does not match to your actual sitemap, it means Google didn’t use the sitemap to find the URLs.

Please note that if the URLs are getting discovered by other means, then the discovered URLs in the sitemap section can be zero. It mostly happens when you have good internal linking or use the Instant Indexing plugin. Can you please confirm if that’s the case on your site?

This is also the reason we have asked to use the URL inspector tool for the URLs that are not discovered in your Google Search Console account to determine if Google used a different method to index it.

Here’s a link for more information:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/zero-discovered-urls-through-sitemap/

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Yes I am using instant indexing plugin. Then how are these 47 discovered pages being shown because I am using instant indexing from the first day.
I also want to tell this, since my sitemap has stopped updating, since then my posts are also not getting indexed, I am indexing posts with request indexing.

    Hello,

Most of the time when you use Instant Indexing on your site, the URLs get submitted to Google by the Indexing API and that’s why Google does not discover those URLs from the sitemap. Possibly Google found those 47 URLs from your sitemap and others from Instant Indexing, internal links, or from links on another site.

However, you can share some affected URLs with us which is not indexing on Google so we can check them further for you.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Ever since I started getting sitemap issue, since then I am getting another issue on the site. My posts are getting automatically unindexed. I am indexing the posts but they are getting unindexed after some time.

I want to know whether this issue is related to sitemap or there is some other issue.

    Hello,

This issue is not related to your sitemap as it is only a file that lists your website’s pages, making sure Google can find and crawl them all. So, if your pages are getting deindexed from SERPs, we suggest you to check your Google Search Console coverage section to determine any issues reported on your site:
    https://support.artlogic.net/hc/en-gb/articles/360016851260-Google-Search-Console-errors-and-coverage-issues

You can share the error message or take a screenshot using this tool and add the link here so we can check as well.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thank you.

I do not understand the reason for deindexing of posts. When checked in coverage, Crawled-Currently not index shows and no issue is visible there. Shows all the points like Crawled Allowed, Page Fetch, Indexing Allowed correctly. When all these parameters are right then it is not understood why the posts are getting deindexed again and again.

    Hello,

If Google deindexes a post, it should list a reason in the coverage section for that. The crawled currently not indexed status means that Google has crawled but hasn’t yet decided to index the URLs. If there are no other issues listed then it is unlikely that posts are getting deindexed.

Can you please share the URL of a post that was previously indexed and is currently deindexed from the SERPs?

    Looking forward to helping you.

I have just indexed all the posts by request indexing but after a few days some new posts will be deindexed.

I have a query here, you mentioned above that sitemap is not updating due to Google API indexing but i forgot to mention, I use API indexing on another site but there sitemap is getting updated.

Then how can it happen that google is reading the sitemap on one site and not on the other?

    Hello,

Please share those affected URLs as we’ve checked some of your new posts, and they are already indexed

Regarding your other site, if Google used your sitemaps to discover them, then it will show your URLs in the Search Console even if you’re using the Instant Indexing API. As we have previously mentioned, there are different methods Google uses to crawl your site.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

As you are seeing the indexed url above, I have indexed all these urls with request indexing. Ever since I started getting the issue of sitemap, since then my urls are not getting indexed automatically, I have to use request indexing to get them indexed.

Right now there are no such URLs which have been deindexed because I have indexed all URLs with request indexing, but as soon as any url is deindexed, I will send you that affected url.

    Hello,

Sure, let us know if an URL gets deindexed. Also, you don’t have to manually request indexing for each post. Our instant indexing plugin submits the posts automatically as soon as you publish or update them. You just need to make sure that you have selected the Posts in WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Instant Indexing > Google API Settings > Submit Posts to Google.

    Looking forward to helping you.
