when you are using Auto Post Redirect and change slug to another and then back to original it creates infinite loop.Example:
http://www.example.com/page1 –> http://www.example.com/page2
http://www.example.com/page2 –> http://www.example.com/page1You could just implement checking that redirect can’t point to itself.

I have just tested this on my end but I could not reproduce the infinite loop. Here is a screencast to demonstrate my steps:
Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.
To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

I added video of my try to sensitive data section.
You can see that in the video, it’s clean WordPress install.
On first change of URL, the Auto Post Redirect creates redirection from test1 to test2.
On second change it adds test2 as source and changes destination to test1, but also leaves test1 as source URL which creates loop redirect test1 to test1.
When I manually remove test1 source url it’s OK.
The ticket ‘Redirection infinite loop’ is closed to new replies.
