    Rank Math free

Hey! I’m here after a lot of YESs and NOs, DOs and DONTs.

I’m using RankMath for 4 long years (on different sites for myself and my clients), but this year it made me completely mad. I’m almost fed up with it as ALL THE STATS ON MY SITE ARE ZERO NOW. I was told by RankMath in an Email (the screenshot is attached) that you should reconnect your site to Console and Analytics, I did and still, the issue persists.

Recent Email from RankMath, Received on 14 Nov, 2022:

    Rank-Math-Not-Working

The issue is, I do on-page SEO using RankMath and publish the post. Before the issue, it would have to take only 17 to 23 hours to appear on Google, and Now it takes at least a week or 8 days to appear. When I check the post in the Search Console, the result is INDEXED, URL IS ON GOOGLE and all other GREEN ticks but it still takes a week or so to appear in actual on Google.

The issue was there since long ago but it was boosted recently after I’ve transferred my Cpanel within the same Hosting Platform.

Also, I’ve changed my site’s Social Sharing Image in RankMath 3/4 weeks ago but when I share my URL-with-no-featured-image, the same old photo appears. I think, ‘all these shocks are linked to the same station!’

I’ve already planned to migrate to any other SEO plugin BUT I’m trying to play my last card here, if it worked would be a miracle.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your latest post, and it is already indexed and showing on the search results page.

Regarding the email report, could you please confirm if the issue also persists on your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > Analytics? If so, please follow the steps in this link for initial troubleshooting:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/analytics-issues/

If the issue still persists, head over to Rank Math > Status & Tools > System Status and then click Copy System Info to Clipboard, and then add the copied system info to the ticket/sensitive data section.

For the post that is still using the old social sharing image, please share the affected URL and the image URL that you have set so we can investigate as well.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Almost both the problems are resolved for now. If occurred in near future, I’ll update the team.

But one thing, that is for sure teasing me is:
“Whenever I share any of my posts or page on WhatsApp (FB, Twitter, insta, LinkedIn is fine), No any link-preview appears. And this thing is very annoying for me for the last 3 weeks. If you can help me out in this regard, I’d be very grateful!

    Seems the problem of RankMath!

    Hello,

There are a few reasons for Facebook (or any other social network like WhatsApp) not picking your images and other social tags. We will list them below so you can check which one applies in your case:

    1. First and foremost, you must check the page source of the URL in question. Search for the og:image tag like in this Video:
    https://i.rankmath.com/aJCccE

If the og:image tag is not found, that means Rank Math is either disabled or not able to print your social tags. Once done checking if Rank Math is enabled, you must check why it isn’t able to print social content by following this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Make sure to follow all the instructions carefully.

    2. Assuming the og:image tag was found in step 1, we can proceed to find the issue.

Scenario 1: You are using minification on your website and your cache plugin is inputting too much inline CSS into your page source that your OpenGraph tags are pushed way too down your page’s source:
    turn off minification

If this is the cache, you must move your inline CSS to a file because Facebook and other social networks will only look for OpenGraph tags in the first 60kbs of your page’s source. If they don’t find it, they will assume you haven’t added them. They don’t want to waste their resources crawling huge pages looking for OpenGraph tags.

Scenario 2: The gain browser cache option in most cache plugins like W3 Total Cache is known to not play well with Facebook’s OpenGraph detection. If you have it enabled, disable it. The option for W3 Total Cache is at WP > Performance > Browser Cache > HTTP (gzip) compression
w3 total turn off gzip compression

Then, clear your website and server cache (including Cloudflare – if enabled)

Once you are done, you might want to test again here:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

    Click the Scrape Again button:
    scarpe again facebook debug tool

You should now see the OpenGraph tags update including the image.

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else. Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

In the data I’ve provided in the sensitive section, there is proof that any link from my site that is shared on Facebook, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, or any other platform (except WhatsApp), the link is successfully previewed but, unfortunately, when shared on WhatsApp, no any link preview is fetched. Kindly address the issue as better as possible. Thank You

og:image tag is present at the top of my site’s source code.
I am not using any cache plugin.
And the OG Image is also previewed when I share the Homepage URL of my site anywhere (including WhatsApp). The issue occurs when any other link (other than the site URL) is shared on WhatsApp.

    Hello,

Really sorry for the late reply, but it looks like the images are working fine for our blog posts

    image

Could you please try with the recommended size of 1200x630px?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

I am TALKING ABOUT MY OWN BLOG!!!!!!!!!

Looks like you didn’t bother to read my replies. Please READ it and also check the Sensitive Data section. I’ve provided all the details but WONDERED BY YOUR REPLY!

    Hello,

It seems like you missed the following point:

Could you please try with the recommended size of 1200x630px?

Our website was added to show that the plugin is working fine for the social share images.

Once uploaded a new higher resolution image, please clear the cache and let us know.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

P.S. We would appreciate being polite on these forums. There is no need to scream (caps). We are trying our best to provide support for free.

Sir/Mam, I’ve changed the size, cleared the caches, and checked the link after 4, or 5 hours but things are still the same. Only the homepage URL, i.e. www. -domain- .com, shows the featured image in the link preview that I’ve set up as a “Social Sharing Image”.No other link is showing the link preview.

P.S. Caps worked, reply was quicker than ever expected! haha

    Hello,

Please note that the WebP images are not supported by the OpenGraph protocol and as such, they may or may not work depending on the platform that you are sharing them.

For this to work consistently you need to make sure you use one of the following formats and in the correct sizes, which the page you shared in the sensitive data section, fails to do both: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/webmasters/#images

Also, if the meta tags are very down low in the page markup sometimes they are ignored and you have a lot of code before the OG tags on the aforementioned page.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

OG tags are on top, and the image format is also fine.
The issue is somewhere else which I, as well as you, can’t pick up.

OG image (preview) is successfully shown on Facebook, Twitter, Messenger, or elsewhere, but is hidden while a link is shared ONLY ON WHATSAPP! i.e. No Link Preview is shown When a Link is Shared on WhatsApp. That’s the main issue with my site.

Changed the size and format, still fails to preview on WhatsApp!

    Hello,

Kindly ensure that all your plugins are up to date including the theme.

If the issue persists, try disabling your Jetpack plugin, clear your website cache and enable it again.

Let us know how that goes.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

    Hello,

    Thank you.
