Permalinks changed randomly

    We were uploading a random image on our webshop. After we did this, the page gave a 404 error. Turned out that the general Permalink settings were changed from message name tot adjusted structure. How is it possible that uploading an image results in changing Permalinks?

    I added the video to the sensitive data.
    As you can see, after saving changes to a category, the page gives a 404 error, just like the other categories from that shop.

    When I then go to the permalink settings in the backend, not even changing anything, the error goes away. Why is that?


    Are you testing on our shop, because it is showing 404 errors!


    I logged in to your site but was unable to replicate the issue. I saved a category without making changes, then checked the links to category pages on the frontend and they were all working.

    There may be a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using. Since we cannot trigger the issue from our side, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Is there something wrong in my Rankmath settings then which is causing this error? Every time we make small changes to a category (new image, text adjustments etc), it results in 404 errors. PLease have a look at our Rankmath settings to see whether something is wrong there.


    I double checked your Rank Math settings as you asked and did not find anything that might cause the 404 errors. However, I noticed a number of 404 errors for attempts to visit links with the old category base. I recommend redirecting them to the new links which do not have a category base. For example produktkategorie/stroopwafels/honig should redirect to stroopwafels/honig/

    I tried to check if there was something I missed while troubleshooting, and noticed that the user account you gave us only has access to the German language version of your website. Please provide access to the Dutch (nl) version of your website, so we can replicate your demostration video exactly. Please also install the Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin so we can track down any theme or plugin conflicts.
