My initial motivation for installing rank math is I was hoping it might be able to help with this alert I’ve received from google search console

Parsing error: Missing ‘}’ or object member name

Can your plugin help with that or can you give me any advice ?

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Kind regards

    Andrew

    Hello,

    Thank you for the update.

I also wanted to add that this issue in your Google Search Console will be fixed eventually, as your site’s no longer showing that error in Google’s Rich Results test.

We are also glad that we have addressed your concern. Could you please confirm if this issue is already resolved?

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Thats really encouraging thanks

Just one thing, I’ve come across a random problem with one of my pages https://www.yachtsandproperty.com/map-box/ There is supposed to be a map on the left and you might see behind the menu bar at the top are a couple of drop down menus and a search bar which should be below the menu bar. I spoke to Siteground and we deactivated all the plugins and that didnt fix it, so Siteground said it must be to do with the theme. This would definitely only happened very recently so I was wondering if there is a chance anything you did could have affected this. Don’t worry if that is the case but if you can think of anything and fix it that would be fantastic because otherwise i will have to restore from a backup and undo all the fantastic work you’ve done. Do you have any ideas ? kind regards, Andrew

    Hello,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

The issue with the map not showing on the left side seems to be a theme design issue with the site’s responsiveness. In this screencast, you can see that the map shows (at the top) when it reaches a certain screen size:

In this case, we would recommend getting in touch with your theme provider as they are in a much better position to help you with this issue.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

The thing is, the theme author isnt supporting me anymore, so I would have to pay a freelance developer at the moment and I know this must have happened in the last day or two, so if you cant think of a fix I’m going to have to restore from backup and start again. SG Optimiser did do some work to minify and optimise JS and HTTP etc. I did delete turn al these off and delete the plugin but is it possible they could have stayed active.

If you dont know the answer and I restore from backup would you mind redoing what you did regards the parsing please ?

    Thanks

    Andrew

    Hello,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

Sure, we’ll try to fix again the parsing error on your site if you restore your site from a backup.

Let us know when we will fix that on your site.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Great thanks Reinelle

Smush have said they are going to have a look and see if they can find what the problem is before I resort to undoing everything with a restore, so I’m crossing my fingers.

I have some questions for you please:

    1. I’ve noticed there are now rich snippets in the items I post created by Rankmath but I also have rich snippets from Yoast. Should I stop using Yoast if I am using your service ?

    2. It looks like your redirection function has imported all my legacy redirections from Yoast. Is that correct ? Most if not all of them are redundant. Does that matter ? should I delete them or can I just leave them ?

    3. Regards redirections I also have a plugin called ‘redirection’ installed, should I delete that if I am using rankmath ?

    4. I’ve noticed the links on items no longer go through to the actual item. If you click on the name of one of the adverts you will see, the screen just refreshes and stays on the same page https://www.yachtsandproperty.com/sailing-yacht-sales-11-24m/ Do you think this is related to the same issue I am having with the maps page ?

    Thanks and kind regards

    Andrew

    Hello,

    1. We always recommend using only 1 plugin to generate your rich snippets or schema to avoid conflicts and confusion to search engines as well.

    2. It seems that you have included all the redirections you have set up from Yoast upon importing. In this case, since they are legacy, you can ignore them. However, if they are faulty or conflicts with other redirections (like the same URL), you may need to delete them.

    3. Rank Math already offers a redirection feature. You may need to disable the redirections plugin to avoid conflicts.

    4. I’ve replicated this issue on the affected URL. However, when you visit the actual links via a new window or new tab in your browser, it works well. Since this is a function where the issue only happens when clicking the link, this might be related to your theme or the maps page.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and looking forward to helping you.

    Very useful, thanks Reinelle

I will have to wait until this issues fixed before I make those changes as I may have to restore from backups but i will make those changes once thats sorted
