    Dears,
Since I moved from Yoast to Rank Math on https://geekomedia.net, it seems any search in google does not bring any page of my website anymore….
I can type the website directly or any search like I used to before….nothing…
I was well positioned for example on webdesign Cambodia….disappeared now…
In Search console, it looks like 67url valid and 296 excluded.
    I copy my robots.txt too…

Please help, I don’t know what to do
    Thx

  • Hello Reinelle,
    Thanks for your message.
Some news as problem still ON
    – I am not able to work on the plugin conflict….when I tried to install by default theme, my website crashed, see screenshot….https://d.pr/free/i/0xbUoA
    – The robots.txt file is not visible when I access my public_html folder…
    – I got Sucuri activated the firewall now but redirection still ON….
    – I have copied FTP access if you can check further…

    Thank you so much.
    Pierre

    Hello,

Thank you for following up, and sorry for the delay.

I’ve further investigated your site, and it seems that there are some issues with your sitemap rewrite rule. Your sitemap is working fine in /?sitemap=1 link, and I’ve already added the redirect to /sitemap_index.xml which already fixed this issue. You can also validate your sitemap here:
    https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html

The robots.txt will not be visible in your FTP since it is created dynamically on your website.

I’ve also checked your sitemap, and it seems that you haven’t verified the www (or non-www) version of your website.
Please ensure that only 1 version of the sitemap is working (200 Ok status), and the rest are redirecting to it. You can also use this tool to check. Please follow the steps in this link:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/#5-check-for-the-correct-version-of-the-sitemap

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hi,
No feedback received since my last message last week.
Could you have a look because my search console still not ok and my searches on google still missing….
Also, for example, I cannot add my website anymore to my google business…

I am thinking switching back to Yoast…I don’t want but all this happened after I switched to Rank Math….

    Thx for your help.

    Hello Reinelle,
Thank you again for your feedback, I continue to try to find the reason of all this…I hope we come to a solution soon, I owe you already 😉

    – I tried to follow your feedback….and tested the redirection
    – I have modified my htaccess with the redirect rule…
    – When I retest the tool https://httpstatus.io/, I have the following result…
    https://d.pr/free/i/bqFbRn
    Is that OK now?

    – I try afterward to test again the heymeta but I got 1 application error and I cannot test it.

    – 1 good news….
When I was sharing on FB https://www.geekomedia.net/, I always got the message YOU GET REDIRECTED…..I went to the facebook sharing debug, recollect for the URL….and now I got my default website image again…..

    A question to you….
    – Can you check if you see the redirect message again? or not…
    – Is the httpstatus.io OK like image above
    – On google search console…should I have 2 or 1 property. For now I have https://www.geekomedia.net/ and https://geekomedia.net/

    Thank you again,
    Pierre

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Upon inspecting your website I noticed a couple of things that could lead to all these problems you are having:

    1. The sitemap on your website is being heavily cached.
    Sitemap cache

Please follow this tutorial to prevent your sitemap from being cached: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

    2. Regarding the redirection it’s still happening even with Rank Math disabled, so that’s not caused by our plugin and there’s no way we can debug that issue further.

    3. You should have the correct version of your website verified on Google Search Console. In this case, your website is using www so your property should have that as well.

    4. Accessing your page with https://httpstatus.io is returning a forbidden error, which leads me to believe that your firewall is blocking a lot of bots from accessing your page and Google relies on Googlebot to crawl websites.

Those are some of the issues I noticed on your website that would recommend looking into.

If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.

    Hello Miguel,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Some feedback….
    1. The sitemap code is already inserted in WP rocket by your team….how comes it does not work?
    2. OK…I have no idea….hosting says no redirection either…
    3. I have www and non-www….should I delete non-www?
    4. I have opened a ticket at Sucuri.
I have Sucuri because we suspected my site to be hacked but no…

Feeling desperate…this is my key activity…
    Maybe I should ask a developer…I don’t know…

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

    1. The caching could also be happening on your server or on Cloudflare if you are using that service for this website.

    2. This is a really weird one, and it’s happening every time we first access the website.

    3. Since your website has www please delete the non-www from your Google Search Console. Also, make sure that it is https.

    4. This is what the Googlebot is seeing when accessing your website homepage: https://view.hugo-decoded.be/?scheme=https&url=www.geekomedia.net%2F&ua=Googlebot&ref=Google

As you can see it’s detecting a redirection there as well.

Hope this helps provide some more insights into the issues.

    Dears,
I am still struggling with this issue….
Step by step, I see some improvments but no solution yet…
I have been in touch with Google Business community and they ask me the following:
Si ceci ne résout pas le souci, n’hésitez pas à revenir vers moi avec une capture d’écran montrant que les robots d’indexation sont autorisés afin que nous puissions faire des investigations plus poussées.

In english, they would like me to prove that robots are authorized for crawling my site….where can I find that?

    Thank you

    Hello,

Thank you for the update, and sorry for the delay.

You can provide them your /robots.txt to show them that you are allowing Google bot to crawl your website.

I’ve also checked your robots.txt and it seems that it is already working fine.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Good morning,
    I have good news…
After a long time, I finally got my website back on Google Business.
And it seems Google is crawling the site again too.
I have pushed URL with instant indexing, I think it helped.
I have also sent NO INDEX for all my portfolio pages because there is no content…
I cannot use heymeta anymore as application fails all the time, maybe because of WAF?
Anyway, I will have to wait for a few days to make sure everything is ok.

I would like to thank you and your team for the amazing help you provided. I hope I will not face these trouble again now 🙏
    Pierre

    Hello,

Glad that everything seems to be working correctly now.

Regarding the issue of https://heymeta.com not running on your website, it could indeed be related to your firewall. Most firewalls block unknown bots from crawling your website and usually, tools like this one make use of bots to find the information on the page.

I went ahead and tested your website and all the bots necessary to have it indexed, like Googlebot and Bingbot, can access your website. That’s exactly what you want, you want the bots from Google, Bing, etc., to be able to see your website and at the moment they can see your website correctly.

    Hello Miguel,
Thanks for the info and your feedback as well.
My friend who is specialist in SEO had a look at my site as well and he told me sth about the double sitemap that is sent to Google…I don’t know how to correct that….

In the console, I see only one sitemap…

    He said this….
Keep in mind that the sitemap URL’s are both:
    https://www.geekomedia.net/sitemap_index.xml
    https://www.geekomedia.net/page-sitemap.xml

You would only submit https://www.geekomedia.net/sitemap_index.xml to Google since it contains links to all the other sitemaps (you could have a https://www.geekomedia.net/post-sitemap.xml in addition to https://www.geekomedia.net/page-sitemap.xml )

    How can I correct that?

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Your friend is correct. If in your Google Search Console you have inserted more than one sitemap I would advise that you remove all sitemaps except the main one sitemap_index.xml.

Here’s a guide on how to submit your sitemap to Google correctly: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

Having only the main sitemap is sufficient as Google will correctly see any sitemaps that are included on that one. So if later down the line you add some posts and include a post sitemap you won’t need to add that to GSC because Google will automatically pick it up from your main one.

    Hope this clarifies your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

OK….but I see only one in the search console and it is
    /sitemap_index.xml…
I had the other property with non-www but I deleted that property…
How can I check I really only have one now?

    Hello,

If you only see one in your Google Search Console then there’s nothing to worry about. That’s the correct and only sitemap submitted to your account.

If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.
