Multiple language website mix up

Hi. I have a bilingual website, English and German. English is the primary language.
I have issues with the German website, which is characterized by website/de/posttitle.
In the edit function we see: In Rank Math “Seo” section I can see my German title with the English slug below the title. Also, in the “advanced” section below the German article, I see the English slug proposed as canonical URL (instead if the German slug).
It is like this in more than the half of my articles. Unfortunately I cannot send snapshots as attachments, is there any possibility?

Thank you for helping, kind regard, brigitte

Thank you for replying. Please see sensitive area. Even when I change the canonical URL to the German URL, the general section will not change the slug into the German one.
    Kind regards, brigitte

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

This issue only seems to affect the metabox preview, I’ve inspected both the English and German versions of the URL but the right canonicals are added to the page and thus the problem won’t affect your SEO.

I’ve alerted our dev team about this and we will be addressing this soon.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Hello Michael. I don’t understand, the canonical URL given by Rankmath would be websitename.com/de/english-slug, how can this be the right canonical for a German article?
    Thank you kind regards, Brigitte

    Hello,

I think he means the right canonicals are displayed in the post once published (and not the ones you see in preview box), so that problem won’t affect the SEO and only the current preview.

Also, I will check if the dev team can check it further so we can determine the cause of your issue.

    Looking forward to help you.

Thank you Alberto. But when the preview is wrong, it doesn’t help much in building a good seo.
The German title is combined with an English slug in the preview, and then of course the German keyword can’t be found in the slug, which means less seo points in the preview. This is not a very helpful plugin then ….
It is more than 1 year ago that I already discussed this matter with one of your support members, he said that your technical dep. will check this, but they obviously didn’t.
It is only now that I discovered the canonical URL preview and that it it also wrong, that’s why I contacted you again.
I am seriously considering to switch back to Yoast or to another seo plugin.

    Thank you kind regards, Brigitte

    Hi,

It looks like you removed the screenshot from the sensitive data section.

In any case, we are taking a closer look at this and we will have a solution for you very soon.

I appreciate your patience in this matter.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I am sorry but have you tried clicking on the link and changing it?

When you create a new post for translations, the info is taken from your original language but you can change it just as easily.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Hello Todd, yes of course I tried to change it. I change it, I click the “update” button …. but nothing has changed.
This happens with 50% of my posts, not with all of them.

    Kind regards, Brigitte

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Hi, may I ask you if you have checked the problem? My WPML and therefore my German version of the site is not working…..

Thank you for a quick feed back, kind regards, brigitte

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today & sorry for the delay.

Are you using a custom login page? I’ve just tried to login using /wp-admin/ but I am redirected to a 404 page.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    You can use wp-login.php
Are you sure that your sensitive area is sensitive? All my German content is lost, all my WPML settings are lost, all my German URLs are lost, and I am lost now too ….
    Can you please explain this?

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
