you are right. Data could have getting saved now.
For this staging site I used exactly the same copy (with duplicator) as the original site, but on my development-hosting from an other webhoster.
So obviously the webhoster settings block somehow the editing of this entries? But how could that happen?

Yes, that seems to be the case indeed. Can you please check with your web host and ask them to take a look? Perhaps some access log or error would help them determine what exactly might be blocking this.

as we found out all database actions which we tested are done correctly, such as CREATE, UPDATE, SELECT, INSERT, DELETE, ALTER, SELECT.
Due to the fact, that this is possible on almost all areas of your website, the database and/or webspace can not be the source of the issue.
Obviously the plugin you are using has some bugs. So we can just recommend you to contact the plugin developer to clarify this issue or try instead an other SEO plugin, for instance YOAST or SEOpress.
Is there a possibility to write these data directly into the mysql database?

first it was not working, even after update of the plugin.
But then I found out how it can be safed: By changing the seperator from long line to short line (see: https://prnt.sc/zw4dn3) it is now possible to save data in local and social media tab.
