  • Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

I can note that the OG ALT is not present in the website’s page source. As previously mentioned by my colleague, Facebook will display its own OG ALT in the Facebook debugger if the page does have this tag.

In the screenshot you shared, it looks like the page doesn’t have enough information for Facebook to find so it returns empty.

I hope that clears your doubt.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

I have seen couple of websites who’s OG ALT is not showing in Sharing debugger

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back. Sorry for the delay and any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

As my colleague has already mentioned, if Facebook is not generating alt text for some websites then it means those sites don’t have enough information and content to generate alt text. Can you share the URL of a couple of websites that get no alt text in sharing debugger?

We really look forward to helping you.

    Pl check the sensitive Data

    Hello,

    Thanks for getting back.

It seems like Facebook only generates alt text automatically if the fb:app_id is present. The sites you have shared don’t have fb:app_id, while the site you have this issue on has a fb:app_id.

Please remove the fb:app_id from WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Social Meta and remove the id from the Facebook App field and save the settings.

Clear the cache of your site & browser and scrape the preview again on Facebook Sharing Debugger.

This should resolve the issue. Let us know if it doesn’t. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

No, It’s not working I followed your instructions.

    Hello,

I can still see the fb:app_id in Facebook Sharing Debugger for your posts. Please confirm that you have removed it successfully and also cleared your site’s cache. If the issue persists then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

    Thanks for sharing the details.

I checked and there is no Facebook App id. If Facebook is generating the alt text even after that then it’s completely up to them and there is nothing much we can do about it. There is no explanation from them about how they choose when to auto-generate alt text and when not to.

Let us know if you need any further assistance.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
