    Hi,

I have added my sitemap in Google Search Console including 13 pages , 59posts, 35 category. totally 107 links. I have no 404 error, but it seems google couldn’t fetch my sitemap.

The sitemap status in GSC is success and updated lately, but when I use URL inspection tool, just few URLs are on Google and even more strange is that coverage is shown “Indexed, not submitted in sitemap”.

Th big problem is that majority of the URLs has issue “URL is not on Google”, two types of Coverage are shown”
Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag” and URL is unknown to Google.

Please refer to the attachment with robots file, can you check if there is any issue? I have no ideia why google couldn’t crawl urls and index? thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your sitemap, and it seems that it’s showing an empty page but with Rank Math codes.

In this case, could you please check if you have a static file with the same name as your sitemap file (sitemap_index.xml)? You should then FTP into your server and remove the file.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your quick response.

My server is SiteGround, can you give more detail where I can check if there is a static file with the same name as my sitemap file (sitemap_index.xml) and how to remove the file. Thanks.

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

Static sitemap pages are usually located in your domain’s public directory. You can access it through your CPanel’s file manager or FTP access and delete it.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hi,

I checked with my server SiteGround. They just found a file called “class-sitemap-index.php”

    It is located in the public_html > wp-content > plugins > seo-by-rank-math > includes > sitemap > class-sitemap-index.php.

There is no file name called sitemap_index.xml, can you tell me what’s wrong?

    Thanks

    Hello,

This could happen due to conflicting plugins.

If you are running other SEO or sitemap plugins please turn them off.

To determine that you have conflicting plugins, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
(Enable only Rank Math and start enabling other plugins one by one to determine the culprit)

Also, head over to your WordPress admin area and go to Settings > Permalinks and hit the “Save Changes” to see if it helps.

I hope this resolves your issue.

    Hi,

When my site was in development, I make wordpress > setting> reading to be checked “Discourage Search Engines From Indexing

I’ve unchecked this box for one week, I’m not sure if there is other code in my robots.txt file blocking access.

Can you check in my Google Search Console to see if the robots.txt could be causing issues? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

    Thank you for following up.

Your robots.txt seems to be working fine as well. I’ve checked your sitemaps again and still getting an empty/blank screen. (Please refer to the screenshot in the sensitive data section)

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure, and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

Thank you, and we really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

    Upon checking from https://httpstatus.io/, https://i.rankmath.com/gvC6WN

You will need to consolidate all versions of your website and only use one version.

Ensure that the version you see in your browser, the setup in your WordPress, and the version you verified in GSC are the same.

3 of these 4 URLs must show a 301 status, and one should show 200 status.

I hope this resolves your issue.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the inconvenience,

I tried changing your htaccess from:

    # HTTPS forced by SG-Optimizer
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
        RewriteEngine On

        RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-Forwarded-Proto} !https
        RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
        RewriteRule ^ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
    </IfModule>
    # END HTTPS

    To:

    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^ prettystyleme.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www. prettystyleme.com/$1 [L,R=301]

But it seems to have broken the site.

As you did not provide FTP access, could you re-upload the htaccess code to your .htaccess?

I am suspecting that the issue is coming from SG Optimizer.

Once you have re-set the .htaccess, please provide us with your FTP access.

While you were testing, I was testing as well so we may have clashed.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi,

I re-uploaded the htaccess code to my htaccess file, my website gone back to normal.

I also activated SG Optimizer plugin, and my sitemap isn’t blank anymore.

To make sure everything is going right, can you confirm if my sitemap is working correctly? Do I need to remove sitemap in GSC and resubmit the new one again?

    Thanks.
