Alt tag

#180782
  • Hello,

I used the Image SEO for a while, but now I want to turn it off and add the alt and title tags manualy. I deactivated the Image SEO. But now when I add a new image and fill in the tags, they don’t show. What is wrong? Did the Image SEO change something?

    With best regards,
    Dan

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Rank Math should not interfere with your site’s images when the Image SEO module is turned off. Can you please let me know if are you using any page builder to set your image’s alt tags or are you setting it directly in the media library?

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

    Hello Jeremy,
    Thank you for your response.
I’m using Elementor to set alt tags.
Also when Image Seo is turned of and I alter alt tags of an existing image, the tags will not be shown anymore.

    Looking forward to your answer,
    Cheers,
    Danny

    Hello,

Thank you for the update, and sorry for the delay.

Could you please also share some affected URLs to check this issue? You can add them in the designated sensitive data section
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure, and only our support staff has access to that section.

Thank you, and looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for following up, and sorry for the delay.

I’ve tried checking the affected URL you have provided using our External SEO Analyzer, and it seems that all your images have the alt attributes.
    Missing ALT

Upon checking manually in the source code, your images indeed contain alt attributes. I’ve also tried to check some of your pages, and they are working fine.

Could you please share the image you are referring to that has a missing alt attribute and the URL?

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hello Reinelle,

    Thank you for your reply.
Yes, when checked manually in the source code, the alt tags are in the source code. But on the page, pointing the mouse to the image, the alt tags won’t show.

I wil put another page in the sensitive data. You will find the pictures of the tapas buffets on the right. The alt tags all show up, exept for the newly made “Tapas-Thuis buffet” I made this one after I installed rank math and is just one example of many that go wrong. Please can you check closely?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

I’ve tried checking the image you are referring to and replicated the issue upon pointing the mouse cursor to that image, but the ALT attribute is already added in the source code. I’ve attached a screenshot in the sensitive data section.

However, I’ve noticed the difference between that image from the others is that the image is in a .webp format. The other images used on that page are .jpg. Could you please check?

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

whenever I search for my site and go to images I’m getting my site name with a slogan on every product title instead of the actual product title also when I click on image or title it takes me to the home page instead of to the actual product Screenshot1 see this image.

    Hello Reinelle,

    Thank you for your reply.

Muhammad Khalid, to keep things clear, please open a private ticket for yourself. Thank you.

Reinelle, the difference in format is not an issue. What I found out is that after I alter the size of an image, it won´ t show the alt tag anymore. Strange.

And than this: the pictures in the tapas menu (see new link in the sensitive data) have an alt tag, but it is not shown. Before I installed Rank Math it was shown. And now, when I activate Rank Math’s image seo plugin, the alt tags that the plug in gives them are shown.

So it’s definitely Rank Math which is altering my alt tags. Please help.

    Hello,

    Thanks for getting back.

Please deactivate Rank Math and check if this fixes the issue with ALT attributes. If it doesn’t then there should be some other plugin or setting that must be causing the issue.

Please check and let us know. We really look forward to helping you.
