Wrong Schema Data

    Hello,

    While posting to Pinterest, I noticed a problem where the wrong description was being posted. I figured out it was coming from Rank Math’s schema settings.

    I don’t think I ever manually edited a schema inside a post for this to start happening.

    So the question is what do I do about this? Do I have to edit the schema tab every time I post or is this something that should be automatic and never change? Also, I don’t know how many posts did this but it’s a lot of them. Can they all be fixed in one shot?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    I checked your page from my end and the schema description seems to have updated to the set seo_description, it is likely it was just a caching issue. Here is a screenshot from my end: https://i.rankmath.com/igs2lk

    I did that manually to fix them all, but I already had it set globally as %seo_description% in the Rank Math settings. I don’t think I’ve ever gone into the schema settings inside the post at all for that to happen. I’ll check it before every post now before publishing to be sure.

    Would anything make the schema set itself automatically in this tab?

    I don’t think it’s cahing because I clear it several of times when troubleshooting, and purge my website’s cache in WP Rocket.

    Hello,

    The schema tab should and by default does set automatically to sea_description and seo_title variables.

    If this is not the case on your end then there is an issue and we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
