    Hi,

    I’ve noticed that when I search for my site on Chrome mobile, it shows the wrong image. I want it to show my logo, but instead it shows a random image that I turned of indexing on. Any idea if RankMath can help with getting the right image to show?

    The site is cambridgechildrensdentistry.com. If you search for “cambridge childrens dentistry” on chrome, you’ll see an image of a tooth rather than the logo.

    Hi Anthony,

    The first result for that query on Google images is your logo:

    Google has a complex algorithm that they use to rank or sort through results.

    For images, they take into consideration the alt text and the text surrounding the image. That is how they decide what image to show for a particular search keyword.

    The alt text on your logo is Children's Dentist in Cambridge

    This means your logo has more chances of ranking for that particular phrase.

    The prominent text near the “tooth” image is Cambridge Children’s Dentistry

    Which means it has more chances of ranking for a particular phrase.

    Of course, there are many other factors at play and I have given you a simple example.

    Thank you so much. I’ve listed the teeth images to not index though, so it’s odd that it’s still being indexed. Also, I’m more annoyed with it in mobile when searching for the business with either of the terms you mentioned.

    What do you recommend that I do to stop the tooth from showing? Will I just need to delete it and redesign?

    Hello,

    Keep in mind you can’t no-index images, just the “attachments”, which are pages generated by WordPress with just those images. (You can’t no-index images because you can’t add meta robots to them, although you could set the robots.txt file to not index them).

    That is what you could do, set the robots.txt to not index those images or switch the alt tags, so the one in the logo is in the teeth you want.
