  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked the 2nd URL you have provided, and it seems that the featured image is working fine. You can also check this in Facebook Debugger Tool that the last image is already set as your featured image.

If the issue persists, could you also provide which social media application this issue occurs?

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

I think I couldn’t explain it to you properly.
Here’s what the Facebook Debugger and other social medias showing: Unwanted Fetured Image
And this is what I’ve set: Expected Featured Image
This is what RankMath preview showing: RankMath Preview

    Hello,

The image showing seems to be the image set for your opengraph data when you check your page source: https://i.rankmath.com/3eN7s6

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it may be a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, please record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the troubleshooting and edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

When everything is disabled, there’s no image in meta tags.
When only RankMath is enabled, there’s an image in the meta tags, but the unwanted one.
When only RankMath and Builder is activated, it’s still the unwanted one.

I’m using Oxygen builder with the 2021 theme, and as Oxygen disables the themes, surely there’s no issue with the themes.

I’ve only 4 plugins installed: Oxygen, Oxygen-Guttenberg integration, RankMath, ShortPixel.

So I think It will be best if you kindly look at the site. I’m updating the credentials.

    Hello,

    Thank you for following up.

I’ve checked your site, and it seems that the URL of the featured image you have set was modified by a plugin while compressing it, resulting to a .webp file extension.

I’ve converted the image from .webp to .jpg for that post, and it’s already showing now the featured image.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    It’s working now!
And yes, I use webp everywhere, either directly or using a plugin like shortpixel on this website. But why would that matter? Webp is needed to reduce LCP time.

    Hello,

This means the image extension needs to be the standard jpg or png to work. It does not detect .webp.

I hope this resolves your issue.

Yes, the issue is solved. Hope that webp will be supported soon.
Thanks a lot for your amazing and fast solution!
