WP Multisite RM Connection Problem

#883565
  • Hello,

    I am managing a wp Multisite system. I uploaded RM pluging on my mainsite and want to use rm for all multisites (sub-sites).
    I am facing with this issue:
    Seems like your site URL has changed since you connected to Rank Math. Click here to reconnect.

    I disconnected and reconnected my main site but still the multisites didn’t change.

  • Hello,

    We apologize for the issue you are facing with connecting Rank Math on your multisite system. It seems like you are encountering the warning about the site URL having changed. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

    1. Ensure URLs Match: First, make sure that the WordPress URL and Site URL for your main site and each sub-site are the same. You can check this by navigating to WordPress Dashboard โ†’ Settings โ†’ General for each site.

      Check the site URL

    2. Disconnect and Reconnect: After confirming that the URLs match, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Rank Math account again for both the main site and the sub-sites. You can find instructions on how to do this in our guide on disconnecting and reconnecting your website.

    3. Clear Cache: If the warning still appears, please clear your browser, website, and site-level cache before attempting to reconnect again. You can refer to our guide on how to clear cache in WordPress.

    4. Add a Filter: If the issue persists, you may need to add a filter to your website to bypass the URL check. You can do this by adding the following code to your theme’s functions.php file:

      /**
      * Filter whether we need to check for URL mismatch or not.
      */
      add_filter( 'rank_math/registration/do_url_check', '__return_false' );

      This will allow Rank Math to stay connected without checking for URL mismatches.

    If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    The correct way to use our plugins on a multisite setup is to install them on the network but only activate them on specific subsites.

    If you have activated the free and the PRO version of the Rank Math plugin on the network, please deactivate them on the network and then activate them on the subsites.

    If the issue still persists, then please head over to your subsite’s WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard > Help, and from there disconnect and reconnect your Rank Math account and see if that helps to resolve the issue.https://rankmath.com/kb/installing-rank-math-on-a-multisite-environment/

    Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello Ike,

    As you mentioned I deactivated the RM on network level and activate them on subsites.
    It seemed like it’s working but the day after I started to get the same error.
    And now, it doesn’t make any change if I click the activate button or not. The error is constantly there.

    And also we want to use this multisite rank math plugin with an automatic activation of the plugin across multiple sites at scale if possible.
    So is there a way to make the setup on netword level and use it with the same setting in all subsites?

    Hello,

    Activating the plugin on the network site can cause issues with some features; that’s why it is recommended to activate the plugin on the sub-sites.

    Please follow the steps shared by RankBot: https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/wp-multisite-rm-connection-problem/?view=all#post-883566

    If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
