    im getting a ton of 5xx errors in search console staring a few days ago. not sure if its something going on with rank math plug in? my seo dropped big time since then

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    It looks like Google is indexing core WordPress files within the /wp-includes/ directory which is not recommended. I can suggest that you block this folder from search engine bots by adding the following directive on your robots.txt file:
    Disallow: /wp-includes/

    Give this a couple of days for Google spiders to crawl your site and the errors will then go away.

    when i update rank math does it mess with my previous settings ? not sure when my robot . txt file got changed up? any help here? is it possible someone hacked it or what do you think?

    Hello,

    Rank Math uses a virtual robots file so if you had a different robots.txt before installing Rank Math, that is the reason why it changed after installing it.

    its not that i installed it.. its that i updated rank math plug in to latest version. also i updated the wordpress package to newest version?

    It should be everything fine but if you will feel safer, we can check your website robots.txt are fine. To do that, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    hey thanks for the offer, i dont really feal comfortable with that but its ok, i thik ive solved the issue just was curious why maybe my robot.txt file changed. is it possible that updating wordpress cause this to happen? is another possibilty that some one hacked the file and edited, like maybe a competitor to sabotage my seo ranking?

    The 5xx errors you are getting seem like a problem with the WordPress installation or some plugin but it doesn’t seem related to Rank Math so with just this data we can’t determine more about it.

    About your robots.txt, make sure you have added some user agent to the robots.txt file, for example, the usual one:
    User-Agent: *
