  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re facing this issue with your website. It’s important to ensure that sensitive areas like the wp-admin section are not indexed by search engines to maintain the security and privacy of your website.

To address this issue, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check the global settings at WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta → Posts/Pages/Products/CPTs to ensure that the noindex attribute is not present.

    2. Also, ensure that the Discourage Search engines… option is not enabled at WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Reading. Here’s a screenshot for reference:

Ensure Search Engine Visibility option is unchecked

If the issue persists after checking these settings, you can also review your robots.txt file to ensure that there are no disallow tags preventing indexing. You can do this using the robots.txt editor in Rank Math at WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit Robots.txt. Here’s a screenshot for reference:

    Edit robots.txt

After making these changes, it’s important to wait for Google to recrawl and update its index. If you continue to experience issues, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

    any updates?

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

The robots.txt file is correctly blocking the admin area of WordPress but it’s possible that this page was indexed while you were using a different set of rules previously.

At the moment, only one page from the admin is indexed, and since the rules are now correct, our recommendation is that you request the removal of that page using the removal section of Google Search Console.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.
