wordfence and rankingcoach problem with indexing sitemap in google

#32913
  • Hello:)

At Fundacjanaszefutrzaki.pl I have a problem with sitemap indexing. I added a sitemap to the google search console and I have a robots.txt file which can be checked by typing in the address bar the name of my domain / robots.txt but the page does not index new subpages in google.

In my opinion the problem is that the robots.txt file is not found by the google robot, which may be caused by the wrong setting of the wordfence plugin on my site and thus blocking the google robot. I also use rankingcoach.com for positioning on this page and I think wordfence is also blocking their system and the page is not indexing properly.

Are you able to help you me to fix the problem or do I have to go to someone from wordfence or ask on support rankingcoach??

I know this is not a problem with your rankmath plugin I suspect but I may be wrong 🙂

Please help or write where to go with this problem and please check the wordfence plugin settings on my site to see if there is a problem 🙂

Please help me to fix my problem

    Best regards

    Wiesława Kłos

    Hi Wiesława,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

The robots.txt file seems to be working fine. Why do you suspect Google can’t see it? Moreover, if Google can’t see your robots.txt file, that doesn’t affect your ranking in any way.

For the sitemap issue, could you please check the following:
    1. Is the sitemap working fine in your browser? You can check that by going domain(.)com/sitemap_index.xml

If the sitemap is working fine, you can try validating it on this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html

If the validation works, please move to the second point.

    2. Have you verified the correct version of your website on Google? Please check if you have verified the www (or non-www) and https (or http) version of your website. If there is a mismatch, please fix that.

    3. Finally, make sure you have cleared the cache and excluded Google bot from seeing a cached version of your sitemap.

If you have followed these and you are able to view your sitemap without any problem, then Rank Math is outputting your sitemap correctly and the error must be coming from Google. You can try and use a 3rd party sitemap plugin to confirm. Just make sure you have disabled the Sitemap module of Rank Math in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard when using a 3rd party sitemap plugin.

If the other plugin works, please do let us know.

    Thank you.
