Won’t connect to Google Analytics

#1000933
  • I have gone through the connection wizard several times now. I can see my stats in Google Analytics itself, but not in Rank Math. Not sure what the issue is. When I go through the wizard, I hit connect on Google’s end and it seems fine but the dot on the WordPress/RankMath end is still red/not connected, even though I can see my website. Some help?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with connecting Rank Math to Google Analytics. It sounds like there may be a glitch in the connection. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Test Connections: Go to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Analytics and click on the Test Connections option at the top right. This will validate the existing connections. A green signal indicates a valid connection, while a red signal indicates an issue.
      Test connections

    2. Reconnect Your Google Account: If you see a red signal, try reconnecting your Google account. You can do this by following the steps in the connection wizard again.
      Reconnect Search Console connection

    3. Check Permissions: Ensure that Rank Math has the necessary permissions to access your Google Analytics data. You can check this in your Google Account settings under permissions.

    4. Refresh Tokens: If the issue persists, it might be due to expired authorization tokens. You can refresh these by removing Rank Math from your Google Account permissions and then reconnecting it again. To do this, visit Google Account permissions and remove Rank Math SEO.
Remove Access to Rank Math SEO

    5. Check Rank Math Account Connection: Ensure that your website is connected to the correct Rank Math account, especially if you have multiple accounts. You can verify this in the My Account area of Rank Math.
      Open the Websites tab

If you’ve tried all these steps and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket with any error logs or additional details about your setup, including your site URL, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

I don’t have the “Test Connection” option for some reason…

    Hello,

For troubleshooting, you can skip the Google connection process in the Setup Wizard.

Please verify using the URL prefix and ensure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www).

    Prefix

You can follow our guide here to create the URL Prefix property:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#num-1-1-open-google-search-console

The URL-prefix property also helps keep your sitemap in sync with Google Search Console as we submit it automatically for you. In addition, the domain property won’t work correctly on some sections of the Analytics module such as the IndexStatus.

Regarding the Analytics drop-down, could you please confirm if you have already created a GA4 property for your website?

If not yet, please visit this page (https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/) and sign up for a Google Analytics account and property, then reconnect your Google Account so the new Analytics account will reflect in that section.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Following up on this since I haven’t gotten a response in 3 weeks.

    Hello,

We deeply apologize for the unexpected delay in response. This ticket has been stuck in our drafts section for some reason.

We checked your nicoleruggiero.com website, and we can see the verification code is already added there.

In this case, please try to clear your website cache, including any server-level cache, and check again.

If the issue persists, you can follow the steps again from this guide to verify your website: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#manual

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
