Wipe and reinstall

    I just had an issue with a security plugin on multiple sites which did so much damage that it necessitated restoring all of the sites from backup.

    On reinstall, Rank Math SEO has a key issue happening:

    When I click any button to add a logo for google or to get authorization code for google console, it malfunctions.

    When I click to add a logo for google, nothing opens up.

    When I click to get authorization code for google console, it should open a new page (it just loads in the same page) to login to google while, on the rank math page, it should open a field to enter the code – but the field never opens up.

    Ive used the:

    add_filter( ‘rank_math_clear_data_on_uninstall’, ‘__return_true’ );

    command to delete and reinstall — nothing changes.

    How do I get this working again?

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Please let us know if you find the culprit else we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    I was only able to replicate the issue with Search Console.

    We are looking into this issue in more detail as a few other users have reported this as well.

    It is going to take time though and we recommend using the Site Kit plugin while we find the issue and fix it for you.
