Why are you using sitemap_index.xml instead of sitemap.xml? Can we change it?

    Hi, i noticed that your plugin uses sitemap_index.xml as entry point for the sitemap. Why is that? It’s common place to have that file name sitemap.xml… can we set it that way?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    Sitemap_index.xml is quite a common naming convention and the same is used by Yoast. I do not believe that the name used for the sitemap file will have an effect on your SEO.
    You can also create a redirection rule via the RM redirections module to redirect to sitemap.xml if you would prefer to have it this way.
