It usually can take up to a couple of hours for the pages to be indexed, assuming that there’s nothing preventing the indexation of the same from Google/Bing.
If you submit a page that has a noindex robots tag then the page would be indexed because that would block it.

Though in cases, the posts get indexed in a few hours but this can largely vary as it mainly depends on your website’s crawl frequency and crawl budget. Even with the Instant Indexing API, there is no fixed time for the pages to get indexed.
The Instant Indexing API just sends a request to the search engine to get the content indexed faster. Once the request has been sent, it is totally up to the search engines to index the pages, and this may indeed take less or more time.
Search engines index contents only after crawling the website. Please clear your website’s cache and wait until the website is crawled and see if the contents get indexed.

Thank you both for your excellent support. Unfortunately we had a Google Page 1 rank for a post in the 4th position but now it has totally gone! It may be a little glitch in Google and I’ll check again tomorrow and revert back
