To understand this, you should know that Google crawls small sized sitemaps faster. With this in mind, Rank math uses the link per sitemap limit to breakdown sitemaps into smaller parts. For example if you have 1200 posts on your site and have set the links per sitemap to 200, if you head to yous /sitemap_index.xml you will find post-sitemaps named from /post-sitemap1 to /post-sitemap6. This is done automatically and it helps in having small sized sitemaps making them easier to crawl.

You do not need to do anything. The new Sitemaps will be automatically created.
The smaller the Sitemaps, faster they are to crawl.
Though Google allows maximum 50,000 URLs in a single Sitemap but we do not recommend using that many URLs. It will not only make your Sitemap slower but might also affect the crawling of your website.

My question is…
how many site map URL is possible under Index xml ?
I can see /post-sitemap1 to /post-sitemap9
each Sitemap having 100 URLs
since my settings is 100 URLs per sitemap…
Total 9 sitemaps having 900 URLs only…
My Posts are 1200+
remaining Posts are not added to the sitemap yet…
I know I can fix it by changing the value from 100 to 200
Then, it will change 900 to 1800 correct?
what if After that limit?
why RANKMATH Can’t create /post-sitemap11 onwards to unlimited?
each Sitemap hold 100 or 200 URLs

The Rank Math plugin indeed creates unlimited small Sitemaps. Here’s an example:
With that said, can you please follow these steps?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/xXXhDt
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server.
