We are using nuxt.js frontend and wordpress headless cms, and we have enable the headless cms on rankmath and place rest api, but still our pages are not getting indexed by google. Also how to utilize the entire tool in terms of sitemap etc, do we need to submit the sitemap manually or can we use the sitemap feature from rank math?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with your pages not getting indexed by Google even after enabling the headless CMS support on Rank Math and setting up the REST API.

To ensure that your pages get indexed by Google, you can utilize the sitemap feature from Rank Math. By enabling the sitemap module in Rank Math and configuring it correctly, you can automatically submit your sitemap to Google without the need for manual submission.

Here are the steps to enable and utilize the sitemap feature in Rank Math:

    1. Enable Sitemap Module:

      • Head over to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO.
      • Enable the Sitemap module if you haven’t already. You can refer to this guide for detailed instructions.
    2. Configure Sitemap Settings:

      • Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings.
      • Customize your sitemap settings as needed.
      • Ensure that the necessary content types, including your pages, are included in the sitemap.
    3. Automatically Submit Sitemaps to Google:

      • If you have connected Rank Math with your Google account and configured the Search Console settings, Rank Math will automatically submit the sitemap to Google Search Console.
      • You can enable the Ping Search Engines feature in Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings → General to notify Google whenever the sitemap gets updated.

By following these steps, you can leverage Rank Math’s sitemap feature to ensure that your pages are indexed by Google efficiently. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to reply here, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you promptly.

Thank you for raising your concern, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

    Closing spiel.

Hi, our main frontend url is ivanooo.com which is developed on nuxt.js but in the rankmath wordpress.ivanooo.com got indexed and it is reflecting on the scheme markup. We need to get the ivanooo.com url to be indexed, not the wordpress. How do we fix this?

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

Our support for Headless CMS is limited only to the metadata being generated on the pages and we don’t have extended support for it such as sitemaps.

The metadata generated is output in a string format dumping all the HTML so you might need to further modify it in your frontend application to get the expected output on the pages.

As for the backend website, that can be set to noindex in the WordPress settings, and then when the output of our Headless CMS feature is taken you need to modify it’s HTML to switch the robots metadata to be set to index.

Hope these guidelines help you achieve a better integration between the WordPress CMS and the frontend application you are using.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thanks Miguel for the reply.

We are getting the meta tag. My wordpress backend set to noindex now. But how can I index the frontend url? This backend changes will affect the frontend ranking too. Could you please explain!

    Hello,

The backend needs to be set us noindex, it won’t affect your frontend since you are using the headless API to generate the metadata from Rank Math which is a separate implementation of robots meta.

Since you are using Nuxt.js for your frontend, make sure you have rendered the head data from the JSON format generated by our headless API.

To control the index state of the target pages and posts via Rank Math settings, please refer to this guide.

    Looking forward to helping you.
