    Hi,

Is this a know problem? I tried searching for it but couldn’t find an earlier reference:

Warning: preg_match(): Compilation failed: quantifier does not follow a repeatable item at offset 0 in /path-to-my-wp-installation/wp-content/plugins/seo-by-rank-math/vendor/mythemeshop/wordpress-helpers/src/helpers/class-str.php on line 79

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

No this is not a known issue, would you mind sharing some steps that I can take to try and reproduce this error from my end?
Additionally, could you please check whether this could be as a result of some rogue code in your theme/one of your installed plugins by running a conflict test through these steps:https://community.mythemeshop.com/tutorials/article/52-confirming-a-plugin-conflict/

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for the quick reply. It appears the problem might be related to using Google to login to the website

I think (although not 100% sure) that it was caused by a conflict between RankMath and a plugin called Nextend Social Login.

I can’t be completely sure because I also disabled all the other plugins, but after re-enabling them it seems to have flushed the gremlins out.

If it happens again I’ll try to narrow it down a bit more carefully.

    Cheers

    Guy
