Variations of keyword – bad for SEO?

Hey, my blog is about meditation. When a post keyword is “meditation” and in the post I write “meditate”, then RankMath classifies that as an error. Because of that, most of my posts have relatively low rankmath score. Do I really need to make it exactly “meditation”? All the variations of that word are not good for SEO?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math us.

Rank Math looks for the exact match of the focus keyword. We look for the phrase exactly like you type it in the focus keyword. If there is a variation, Rank Math will not be able to detect it.

This is something we are working on improving though. A future update of Rank Math will have much more enhanced detection engine.

In terms of SEO, variations should work but you should try to add synonyms as keyword variations.

Here is some link about keyword variations:

I hope this helps. Thank you.
