URL’s not fetched on search console sitemap

  • Sometimes back we requested assistance to clear an error where our sitemap was not being fetched fully into search console for our website http://www.newszetu.com which has 59,038 but only 30,613 of them are being loaded on to the search console sitemap. You heled us reset the url’s and adviced that the urls will be fetched. It is now more than 6 weeks and infact the fetched urls have declined by about 200.
    What could be the reason for this and is there any other way we can resolve the issue.
    We have included FTP access incase you need to have a look.

    Could you please check your Google Search Console’s coverage section for any issues reported on your site?

    The coverage report has currently only 2 issues affecting 19 pages and are the in the process of validation. But the sitemap has so far only discovered 30,613 urls. See attachments

    It seems that you have marked this ticket as “Resolved”. Marking this ticket as “Resolved” will remove all data from the Sensitive Data section.

    I went ahead and opened the ticket again so you can insert the attachments again.

    Sorry i did not notice that the button below reads mark as resolved and that was the reason since i ticked it.

    It seems like you missed adding the attachments after removing the resolved status from the ticket.

    Please share the attachments along with the URL of your website so that we can investigate further.

    Also, please confirm if the URLs other than the detected ones from the sitemap are getting indexed on the search results?

    Hello,

    Google assigns a crawl budget to each website and crawls the website according to it. As soon as the crawl budget expires, the crawling is stopped.

    As you have a large website, it can take time for Google to discover all the URLs. I suggest you clear your website’s cache and give Google some more time and see if the number of discovered URLs increases.

    Sure we are aware of the crawl budget but in normal circumstances the discovery happens a little earlier and update sitemap but the actual crawling nd indexing may take time.In our case for seven weeks now the sitemap hs reduced by 200 urls while we have added content. This does not look quite normal.

    I can check that you have 295 post sitemaps in your main sitemap. Please increase the Links Per Sitemap to reduce the number of post sitemaps. Then remove all previously submitted sitemaps and resubmit your main sitemap in GSC.
