Google Search Console shows 5 URLs on my site that are all marked “noindex”. They are all tag URLs. I don’t know how to fix this. I listed the URLs in sensitive data.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I checked your URLs and they are set to noindex. You can also confirm the same with this tool: https://smallseotools.com/meta-tags-analyzer/

    Please do the following:

    1. Head over to Rank math > Titles & Meta > Tags and ensure you have not set them to noindex.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Posts > Tags and check in Rank math meta box under the advanced tab to confirm you have not selected the noindex option.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for your reply. I looked at both of your options and neither one seems doable, strangely.
    1. For option #1, my Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Tags doesn’t have any option to set any of the tabs to noindex.
    2. I looked at Posts > Tags in my WordPress dashboard and I see where I can navigate to each individual tag on my site and I see the Rank Math options there, which are similar to the options under each of my blog posts, where you try to increase the rankings. But there’s nothing anywhere resembling an “advanced” tab of any kind and there are no “noindex” options anywhere.
These options either don’t exist or are not visible to me.
Is there anything else that I can try?
One thing to note: In my visual editor screen, when I go to https://jenlawyer.com/tag/fraud/ or any of the other pages I listed, the “Rank Math SEO” tab, when I hover over it, has the “noindex” option checked. I can uncheck it, but that doesn’t “stick”…when I then reload the page, the “noindex” option is checked again. I don’t see a way to “save” it after unchecking it or anything.

    Thank you,
    Jennifer Weil

    Hello Jennifer,

Some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math. We give you an option to choose between the two during the setup wizard and you must have chosen to use the Easy Mode.

You can switch to the Advanced Mode from the top-right corner at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard. Here is a screenshot for reference: https://i.rankmath.com/oMQ5Vj

Once you are in the advanced mode, head to Rank math > Title & Meta > Tags and confirm the option to Add SEO meta box is enabled. If it is not, please enable.

You can the go on and check your tags Advanced tab options and check them to index or noindex.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Thank you! You’re right, I had it set to easy mode. This worked! Thanks so much for all your patience and assistance. Have a great weekend!
