    Ref# Title tag in phonenixrubber.com

On the live site, we see title tags with a distinctive character as a separator in the bigging of the actual, intended title tag. Screenshot- https://prnt.sc/26bfmjw This is not intended. I have checked the settings in the dashboard- https://prnt.sc/26bfnk0 Any changes I make in this field does appear immediately but I am unable to get rid of the unspecified separator in the beginning.

    Please advise.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

Could you please share the affected URL so that we can have a closer look at the issue?

Also, please edit that page and check if the separator is present in the Title field of the Preview Snippet Editor. You can follow this guide to check the added Title: https://rankmath.com/kb/seo-meta-tags/#seo-title-gutenberg

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

The link of the site is https://phoenixrubber.com. That is the only ‘page’ on the eite and the spearator is visible in the browser tab, titlte tag, just after the favicon. I checked the affected page as suggested and below is you can check the screenshot at this link- https://prnt.sc/26bfs7f The phrase ‘examle serahc’ appears there just before this tag which is intended as I did add #search_query% tag in the title (Screenshot- https://prnt.sc/26bftaa), believing this would insert theGoogle search query automtically when a visitor is searcing for any of these keywords, making it more affective result.

    Hello,

The %search_query% variable is intended to be used on search pages of the website. You can read more about this here: https://rankmath.com/kb/variables-in-seo-title-description/#num-2-search-query

On other pages, it would return an empty string and this is the reason why you’re seeing the separator at the beginning.

The words “example search” that you’re seeing on the backend are just a demo of that variable and not the actual output. The output of that variable would be shown on search pages.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks for a super quick response and clarification on this! However, when I search on google and this site does appear there, it does not show teh search query in place of ‘seacr example’, as is expect. Please this screenshot as an example- https://prnt.sc/26bfyh0 I expect the search query i.e. Scrap tire management in NJ to get inserted automatically just before that separator.

Is there something missing in the setup or my expectations are wrong?

    Hello,

The search result page, mentioned in the guide I shared, doesn’t relate to Google SERPs, rather, it refers to the internal search page of the website i.e, the WordPress search page.

We do not modify the data on Google SERPs as those are fully controlled by Google itself.

All the variables are to be used and shows the output inside your website only.

Here’s a screencast from my end that shows the use of %search_query% variable:

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

Ah! That would explain. Thanks a lot for explaining all patiently, Prabhat! Have a nice time ahead and stay safe.
