  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

We’re unable to replicate this issue on our test installs using the latest version of Rank Math.

If the changes are not saving while using Rank Math, please check if you have a firewall as there are chances that it will prevent saving the data.

For initial troubleshooting, please follow the steps in this link:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

    Hi

The issue still persists. Keywords added by authors are not being saved, please check the video
    https://www.loom.com/share/671521120eec41d7bffb1c5dcbfa1c72

I went through your previously shared link, https://rankmath.com/kb/meta-data-not-saving/, but there is no console error found on that page, and we don’t use any firewall.

I am using both RankMath and RankMath Pro.Here is the site, https://reviewx.io/

Let me know if you need admin access to the site to check the issue. Please help us ASAP.

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I added the updateMeta route to the Allowlist of WordFence’s firewall and now the metadata is getting saved without any issues for the author role.

Please check and let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Hi Jaideep

You are awesome, yes it’s working now for the author. Can you please tell me how can I add the update meta route to the Allowlist of WordFence’s firewall?

I mean you have fixed it in the staging site, now I need to fix it on my production site. Some instructions with screenshots will be helpful for me.

    Thanks a lot.

    Amin

    Hello,

You can follow our guide in this link to whitelist Rank Math routes in WordFence:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/whitelist-rank-math-in-wordfence/#whitelisting-rank-math-in-wordfence

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The settings you set in the Firewall seem to be correct. Can you please check if you are able to save the keyword?

At the moment, on our end, the keywords are saving just fine.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

    Hi

Please try with author credentials (I shared already), and the issue was that. I just checked but still, the author can not add/ edit keywords.

    Check here, https://www.loom.com/share/d0b2c4f950ba4c7a963cedd56e4829ef

Previously from your support, firewall settings were set on our staging site, and it worked fine, but on our production site, it’s not working. Can you set it on our production site, please.

    Thanks for your support.

    Hello,

You will have to whitelist the path using the Live Traffic tool of WordFence to apply it to all the user-roles. I have done it on your live site and added the screencast in the sensitive data section so you can do it yourself if you ever face this issue on any other site.

Please check and let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Hi Support team

Thanks a lot for your help. Yes, keywords now can be added by authors. Thanks for the fixation and also for the screencast, it will be really helpful.

    Cheers!!
