Unable to save changes in some settings pages

    First, I have followed the instrcutions here: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

    The issue is reproducibale even when no other plugins are enabled and Twenty Twenty theme is active.

    Second, here is how to reproduce the issue:

    1. Go to Rank Math settings
    2. Go to General Settings
    3. Change any of the settings (Note: even without changing any setting the issue occurs)
    3. Click on the Save Changes button
    4. I am redirected to the 404 error page

    Could you please help with this issue?

    Latest WordPress and latest Rank Math plugin are confirmed.

    I have tried both with Php 7.0 and 7.1. This is a Hostgator shared account. I don’t have access to other Php versions.

    To clarify, I am able to Save changes in the Titles & Meta page. This issue appears to be isolated to the General Settings page only.

    Hi there. It turns out the .htaccess mods iThemes Security plugin did were causing the problem. I uninstalled that plugin, removed all entries related to this plugin from the .htaccess, installed another security plugin. At this point I am unable to reproduce the issue. I don’t know the root cause of this problem but the issue is now resolved for me. Thanks.

    I am glad it is gone now.

    If you face the issue again, please ask your web host to increase the PHP memory limit and execution time.

    That should do the trick.
