  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked the affected URL you have provided, and it is indeed not showing using Twitter Card Validator tool.

However, I’ve noticed that the image’s resolution is too large. Please resize your image at least 1200 x 630 pixels and an aspect ratio of 2:1.

Once done, clear your site’s cache and check again using the Twitter card validator tool.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and looking forward to helping you.

    Hello there!

Weirdly, this was never an issue before it’s only just started now. With regards to resizing the image, we have to keep the image at the size it is for the website to be able to utilise it properly in the header pages.

As said, this has only just started happening in the past few days, is there any way you could look in the back end and see where we might be going wrong?

    Thank you

    Clare

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math again.

Could you kindly go through this checklist to ensure you have set the images in accordance with Twitter’s summary card recommendations? https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-for-websites/cards/overview/summary

Also, try using another image to see if this will resolve the issue as you have mentioned that this was working before.

Please do not forget to clear your cache. Well if this issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hey there

So I had a look through the twitter details and I’m just not sure where I should be putting what… I’ve tried old links on the validator and it’s now saying it’s unable to render Card preview.

I am really worried about this as it makes our feed look terrible and as a start up about to engage with some larger businesses, we need to be professional and on point.

I would really help your feedback!

    Thank yoU!

It’s very strange, a load of our tweets have just lost their twitter cards… I cannot figure out what has changed. Thank you for your urgent help

    Hello,

Just checked your image here (https://i.rankmath.com/IDMmtf) and it does not have the required dimensions of the required the Twitter summary_large_image.

The image here bears an image size of 1980 x 1112 pixels which is too large compared to the recommended 1200 x 630 pixels.

Also, if they were showing before this could happen due to caching of your pages by twitter crawlers.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you may take to for the cache to clear on your pages: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-for-websites/cards/guides/troubleshooting-cards#refreshing

Hope these do help. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
    Thank you.

I’m not sure what to do because in order for the image to show up correctly on our homepages it needs to be 1980 wide…

… is there a way I can get it to pick another image which is resized?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the follow-up.

You can choose a different image for your homepage or other pages in the Social Tab of Rank Math. I’ve attached a screencast in the sensitive data section for your reference.

Once done, please clear your website’s cache and check again using Twitter Card Validator tool

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Hey there,

Sadly it doesn’t work. I have created an image exactly to the sixe recommendations (1200×630) and it is still stating it is not the right size. If you look at the twitter card using say… https://voltafuturepositive.com/2021/04/29/indigenous-people-teach-us-a-lesson-in-protecting-the-planet/ … it still shows as blank.

Also, we need the social media images to pull from the post (so the featured image of the post).

Please advise, this is incredibly important and we do need it resolved today!

    Thank you

    Hello,

    Thank you for the feedback.

I was able to replicate the issue even after uploading the recommended size of the image and definitely, that is not the reason why the image is not showing.

This issue is probably coming from Twitter’s end as all the recommendations by them have been followed. It is possible their web crawlers are caching these pages. Their web crawlers re-index the Card tag information on your page roughly every week.

As I had requested previously please follow their guide on how to update these posts caches on your site as follows:

It may be possible to use the following technique to refresh the cache with your most up-to-date changes to your page’s Card.

    • Add Card metadata to a page
    • Tweet URL to that page
    • Refresh your browser to view the Card contents on your timeline
    • Change Card metadata on the page
    • Take the same URL and runs it through bit.ly
    • Tweet the new bit.ly URL
    • Refresh your browser to view the updates

Additionally, you can create multiple bit.ly URLs to allow for repeat testing. For example, adding placeholder value parameters to the end of your URL (http://www.test.com/?x=test1) or a unique hash (http://www.test.com/#test1) will generally not affect the page contents, but will generate a unique bit.ly URL for each unique value of x.

Lastly also noticed that you are using an outdated version of WordPress. This may not affect this directly, but it is always recommended to stay up to date with WP versions.

Hope this helps. Please do update us on this as soon as you try it.
    Thank you.
