Trying to remove noindex on category pages

    Hi,

    I’m trying to remove the noindex on category pages but can’t seem to get it working.

    I’m in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Categories >

    I have enabled Category Archives Robots Meta

    And Category Archives Robots Meta is set to index

    In Global Meta > Robots Meta is set to index. (I do have Noindex Empty Category and Tag Archives enabled but this example category is not empty).

    The example page where I am seeing noindex is in the sensitve data section.

    <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, follow” />

    I’ve cleard all my caches and used a browser on a VM that has never been used to view this site and the noindex is still present.

    What have I missed?

    Thanks for contacting us, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    There’s a duplicate robots meta on the URL you’ve shared. The one Rank Math generated is already set to index, but the other one that is being generated by any of your plugins/theme is set to noindex. Which is why the issue is occurring in your case.

    Please refer to the screenshot attached in the sensitive data section.

    You’ll need to remove the other one on your site in order to fix this issue.

    Hi Md. Sakib Khandaker,

    thank you for that. I disabled every plugin but that didn’t make any difference so it was the theme next and that is what it was.

    I’m using Enfold and it was in the SEO Support > Meta Tag “robots” and I have now set that to Let SEO plugin set this tag and the double robots tag is gone.

    I’ve been using this theme for years and never knew this was even a thing.

    Thank you so much. Now to tell google to reindex my category pages via the Search Console.
