The score is there only for your reference and doesn’t affect your actual rankings. Treat it only as a to-do list, nothing more. Don’t try to live by it and don’t follow the tests religiously.
With that said, switching SEO plugins doesn’t cause a drop.
There was a huge Google update on 13th Jan that might have caused the drop. If you can share your website URL, I would love to take a closer look.

I think I made the transition without problems, but considering this difference between yoast and rank math I wanted some safety all here 🙂
