Title and Meta Description

  • Hello,

    I am updating my Rank Math Title and Meta Descriptions on WordPress. However, on the Global Meta Tab, under Robots Meta, my new settings won’t save and keep checking INDEX as an option I want, which I do not.

    I have tried to reset the changes but that doesn’t help. Thank you for any help someone can give me.

    Sorry for the issue you are facing.

    Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

    To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:

    Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    There weren’t any issues after doing the health check. Also, the PHP is updated as well. However, it still will not change. Anything else you would suggest? Thanks for your help.


    Did you follow the full guide? The guide is actually for disabling all your themes and plugins so we can know if the issue is there even if only Rank Math is enabled.

    If you do not wish to keep the “Index” option checked, you can choose the “No Index” option which will automatically uncheck the “Index” option.

    I am not sure how to deactivate the theme without deleting it. I followed the guide and it will not let me uncheck the option.


    You just need to enable the troubleshooting mode and then go to Appearance > Themes and there select one of the default themes (like Twenty Twenty).

    It will be enabled only for you (not for any other user) and you will be able to test for issues.
