Title and Description Issue for Social Media Share with Polylang

    Hi there!

I have Polylang installed on my website and I have set Social portion (title and description) for the 2nd language. However, when posting on social media, it picks up 1st language title and description instead. I have run Facebook Debugger scrapper multiple times to no avail. How can I get it to pick from the correct language? Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

By checking the page source of the multilingual pages, you can see that Rank Math is translating the OG meta correctly for the second language as you can see below:

Facebook is picking up the locale as “en_gb” because it is extracting the raw tags from the canonical URL.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Thanks for checking on this. What can I do to ensure Facebook pick the translated text when I share the translated link?

    Hi Reynolds,

    Thanks for the patience.

The debugger is now picking up the correct tags when you share a link which is on the second language as shown below:

I hope this info helps. Thank you.
