Time Article Pubblication Wrong

  • Resolved Luigi

I have a problem with the plugin RankMath, in particular the problem concerns the time of publication of the articles, the time and time settings in wordpress have been set correctly, but in the structured data the wrong time is shown, that is two hours back .

The problem depends on the plugin because I tried a disabled and everything works, while when I activate the plugin the wrong publishing time is reported.

    Come on can I fix?

  • here is the data:

    datePublished 2019-06-13T10:31:37+00:00
    dateModified 2019-06-13T10:31:37+00:00

the correct time should be 12:31:37+02:00

because I am in the Rome time zone…

I also checked the server time and it’s correct and all wordpress settings are in the right time zone…

    Hello Luigi,

    The date is correct.

is exactly the same as 12:31:37+02:00

Where are you seeing the incorrect time being reported?

the wrong date I see it through the google tool of structured data

Che i docenti italiani siano tra i meno pagati d’europa è un fatto noto, in questi giorni però è arrivato anche un monito direttamente da Bruxelles che ha

I tried to disable the plugin and the problem is solved, so I say it depends on RankMath

you can also see from the page’s source code, here is the site:

click on a single article and then view the source code, search through the words “datePublished” and you will see that the publication time is wrong.

the plugin is really great, but for me this is a big problem as the site will soon be included in google news and the time of publication is important.

if I can’t solve the problem I will have to disable the plugin and leave a negative feedback

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the access.

I have been able to replicate this issue when the post is published under a timezone with daylight saving time. This has been submitted to our dev team and we will be getting back to you in a short while.

We appreciate your patience. Thank you.

    ok thanks very much.

will I always receive an answer here on the forum?

    Hello Luigi,

Sorry, but as I mentioned, the time is exactly the same. We use the GMT zone so the time is the same when converted to +2:00.

Are you facing any issue because of it?

    Hi Todd,

I don’t think it’s the same thing, there is a time zone because every country has its own time.

If I publish an article at 8:00 am in Italy it actually turns out that the article was published at 6:00 am precisely because the plugin does not calculate the Italian time zone which has a difference of two hours.

When the plugin is deactivated the publication time becomes correct and also in the structured data the +2:00 appears.

The site will soon go into google news and it is very important that the time is correct.

    I hope I was clear…

I manage 8 websites and all have the correct publication date and the time zone +2:00, if you say it’s the same thing, how come all sites have the correct time?
so what’s the wordpress time zone setting used for?

    Hi Luigi,

Please check the time printed carefully.

If you use +2:00 hours, the time printed is going to be:

If you use the GMT (like we do with Rank Math), the time printed is going to be:

When you convert the time, it is going to be exactly the same.

    Here’s the proof:
    gmt to italian time

If you would still like to change the time zone, you can do so using a filter:

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
