    Hi Rank Math team,

I set up Rank Math and was going through the settings. Under Edit robot.txt, I get a ”the robots.txt file is not writable.” alert. Is this bad? Should I just ignore this or should I do something to get rid of it? I have no knowledge of coding.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting us.

It seems like you have a physical robots.txt file in your website’s root folder.

For the robots.txt option in Rank Math to work, you have to delete the robot.txt in your website’s root folder.

Then Rank Math will be able to generate a robots.txt file for you and you can manage that from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Edit Robots.txt

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
