Hello RankMath Family! Since the last update of RankMath, I have noticed that the feature images of my products, pages, and posts are not visible on Google search engine. However, when I search through the images tab on Google, the images do appear.

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you are facing issues with the featured images not showing up on the SERP after the RankMath update. To ensure that the featured images appear correctly on Google search results, please follow these steps:

    1. Check if you have enabled the Image SEO module in Rank Math. You can do this by heading over to General Settings → Images from the Rank Math menu to access the Image SEO features.

    2. Verify that the featured images meet the recommended dimensions and formats for social sharing and search engines. For social media platforms like Facebook, the recommended image size is 1200px X 630px, and supported formats are jpeg, png, gif, and WebP.

    3. If you are using WooCommerce and encountering a Missing field “image” error in Google Search Console, make sure you have added a featured or product image to the affected product pages. You can update the Schema Type to WooCommerce Product in Rank Math SEO settings.

If after following these steps, the issue persists, please reach out to the Rank Math support team for further assistance by opening a support ticket here. They will be able to provide more specific guidance based on your website’s configuration.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Hello,

Please note that Rank Math doesn’t have any control over how images in the SERP results are displayed and search engines display them as per their will and it mostly depends on the keyword search term and the website authority.

In this case, you may try to add relevant ALT text to the featured image or image you wanted to show, and chances are search engines will refer to it.

Here’s a guide you can follow as well:

    Hope that helps.

    Dear Reinelle,

Thank you for replying, but what I want to say is that the images are simply not showing up in the SERP (Search Engine Results Page) anymore, even though they were perfectly visible before. The way I am attaching the pictures, they do show up. However, they are not showing up for any of my products or pages.

    Hello,

As we already mentioned there is no way we can control the images shown in search results. The Google Search algorithms select the images as it believes that it is something that would benefit the users.

Here’s a link for more information on this: https://www.infidigit.com/news/can-you-control-the-image-snippets-shown-for-a-google-search-result/

However, you can follow the guidelines we shared above for your images and see if that works for you.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

his issue occurred after Google’s core update. Could it be related to Rank Math? I’ll provide the official thread link, many are saying it’s a Google bug.

    Hello,

What is shown in Google’s SERPs is totally their prerogative. Just like the thread you shared, it is possible Google is trying things out in their words “…to reduce visual clutter”.

Since many people are facing a similar issue, it is possible they will rectify these issues or share their reasons.

We will advise you, follow that thread since it is still ongoing, and get to know a suitable resolution.

    We hope this helps.
