The date of the article does not appear in the search results even though I use the same template as my friends and I made the same settings in the RankMath tool.
Is there a way to show the date of the last update of the article in Google search?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked the site you are referring to, and they are using either a subfolder or category for those dates showing in the breadcrumbs 2020/07. If you visit their URL, it shows domain.com/2020/07/postname.html

If you’re referring to the date showing in the meta description, please read this article:
    https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/03/help-google-search-know-best-date-for.html

Google won’t give a definitive, single answer for how they pick a date. There are several ways through which Google picks the date to be shown in the search results.

One of the most prominent ways (in our experience), is the date shown by the theme on the page. Google usually picks and shows the date they see in the content itself and show it in the SERPs.

Since this can not be controlled by an SEO plugin, we do not show the date in our SERP preview. But, we do add the correct date in the Schema Markup generated by the plugin:

You can read the following article further if you want to understand more about it:

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Hello, thanks for the reply
I don’t mean the date in the link, I mean the date in the search results.
As it is clear in this snapshot https://ibb.co/8YDg4r3 that the two sites in the first contain the date of publication of the article, but my site in the third-place does not contain the date below the title in the search results
I don’t know what the problem is!!

    Hello,

Google usually picks that date from the post content itself. Google shows the date of a page when its automated systems determine that it would be relevant to do so, such as for pages that can be time-sensitive.

As suggested by my colleague, please refer to this article for more details:
    https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2019/03/help-google-search-know-best-date-for

Two of the important points mentioned in the above article is that the date should be clearly present on the post and secondly, the datePublished and dateModified schemas should be present.

For the second point, we already include datePublished and dateModified schemas on the post. I checked your post and the fields are present. Please have a look at this screenshot for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/PA4hHf

However, upon inspecting the source of the page, I found that there are multiple schema sections present. Here’s a screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/Y42L1i

Multiple schema sections can confuse the search engines and result in not getting the rich results on the SERPs. Please follow this troubleshooting guide to see which plugin/theme is inserting the duplicate schemas: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Once you find the plugin/theme causing the issue, please disable its schema and other SEO-related features to fix the duplicate schema issue.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Hello. I turned on the troubleshooting mode and found that the RankMath extension was causing the problem
Without RankMath, there are only 10 schema sections.
    How I can fix that?
Can any of you solve this problem for me? I can send you the login information to confirm and solve the problem

    Hello,

There should be only one schema section on your website, Rank Math adds the schema inside the head section with this script tag:
    tag

While conducting the plugin conflict check, please enable Rank Math plugin first and the default theme, then enable the other plugins.

Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c

Please disable the other plugin that is adding the schema.

    That should fix the issue.
