I get this in search console.

The data sets are empty in your cache. You can wait for the next cronjob (29/09/2020 00:00:00) or Update Manually.

Note: Please update your data by clicking on ‘Update Manually’. Google only stores data from the last 90 days – a dataset older than that can’t be updated anymore.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Are cronjobs working correctly on your site? Please ask your web host if you are not certain.

Please also ensure you have verified the correct version of your site and selected in the dropdown.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

That issue resolved automatically. But now I troubling with sitemap issue. It shows /sitemap_index.xml is not a sitemap. And the sitemap url showing ‘couldn’t fetch’ in google search console.

    Hello,

Do you have any caching enabled on your site? Please ensure to exclude all your sitemap URLs, clear your cache then do the following:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

    3. Head to your GSC, remove any submitted sitemaps adnresubmit only the main sitemap index file(sitemap_index.xml)

    That should fix the issue.

If it doesn’t, please do let us know so we can look at this further.

I followed all the steps. But the issue didn’t solve.

    Hello,

It could be due to your site caching the sitemaps. Are you using a cache plugin? If yes, which one?

Usually, you should add the following exceptions to the cache:

    /(.*)sitemap(.*).xml
    /(.*)sitemap.xsl

After that, you should resave the permalinks and clear the cache and the issues should be solved.

    Looking forward to help you.

I use wp rocket cache plugin. I also included exceptions of sitemap in never cache option. But the issue still prevails.

    Hello,

In that case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I checked the exceptions, cleared the cache (and Cloudflare cache), resaved the permalinks and waited a little for the sitemaps to regenerate. Could you check if it is fixed now?

    Looking forward to help you.

No..it still shows /sitemap_index.xml is not a sitemap index and Google search console shows couldn’t fetch sitemap.

    Hello,

Your sitemap is working fine from my end and also validated it on this link: https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html and no issues are detected.

Have you tried resubmitting your sitemap file(sitemap_index.xml)..? If not please do.

If you have and the issue still persists, it is likely coming from Google. You can try and use a 3rd party sitemap plugin to confirm. Just make sure you have disabled the Sitemap module of Rank Math in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard when using a 3rd party sitemap plugin.

If the other plugin works, please do let us know.

    Thank you.
