I added Rank Math to a new site and the “Thank you for connecting your Rank Math account” remains on the screen. It doesn’t clear automatically and the X is missing the right.

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
The fact that the disable X button may suggest that there is a plugin styling conflict that is hiding it. Please perform the diagnostic steps described on this page to isolate the culprit: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
Once you have been able to click on disable button, you will also need to purge your site cache.I hope this info helps. Thank you.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Thanks for the access.
I have tested this by setting up a vanilla install but this notice is dismissed automatically after activating the account. It looks like there is something affecting Rank Math on your site. While running through the setup wizard, your site reports that “The site is experiencing technical difficulties”.
Please share some FTP access as well so that we can investigate this further.Thank you.

Thanks for the follow up.
One of your installed plugins “Defender Pro” is blocking some requests from the Rank Math plugin. With this plugin deactivated everything goes smoothly.
Please backup your RM settings by heading over to Rank Math > Export settings and backup your settings and then add the following filter to your theme’s functions.php file to delete the plugins data from your database:
/** * Filter to remove Rank Math data from the database */ add_filter( 'rank_math_clear_data_on_uninstall', '__return_true' );
The next step will be to delete this filter & perform a clean install of the plugin and activate your account with Defender Pro deactivated.
This should then fix the issue.

Could I achieve the same thing by exporting RM data, deactivating Defender Pro, uninstall/reinstall RM, activate Defender Pro?
And, since I use Defender Pro on all my sites, should I make sure I deactivate it before installing RM on other sites?

Thanks for the question.
You will need to sign out and then sign in to your account and doing a fresh install is the best way to fix this.
For the other sites, you can temporary disable the plugin while doing the setup and later activate it so that Rank Math can save all the required files and access all the necessary variables.

Looks like notification is stored in the options table without ID which is causing the problem.
