  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue with the Table of Contents schema not being detected on your page. I understand the concern you have.

To address this problem, please follow these steps:

    1. Check the Plugin Compatibility: Ensure that you are using one of the supported plugins for the Table of Contents feature in Rank Math. You can find the list of supported plugins in our knowledge base article here.

    2. Verify Schema Markup: After confirming the plugin compatibility, make sure that the Table of Contents schema markup is correctly implemented on your page. You can use Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool to validate the presence of the schema markup.

    3. Reindex Your Page: If the schema markup is correctly implemented, but still not detected, consider reindexing your page through Google Search Console to ensure that the changes are recognized by Google.

If after following these steps, the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

The SiteNavigationElement that is added by the TOC is not eligible for Rich Results, hence why it doesn’t show in that test.

If you check the page with the Schema validator you’ll find the data for the TOC as that test looks for all Schema markup: https://validator.schema.org/

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and bringing your concern to our attention.

Please note that the SiteNavigationElement Schema is not eligible for rich results with Google’s Rich Results test tool. You can see the supported types here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/7445569?hl=en#zippy=%2Csupported-types

You can check the SiteNavigationElement Schema at https://validator.schema.org/

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

I am sorry but I am not sure I understood.
When I check one of my competitors I do see the TOC schema. Please this screenshot: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AqEf9YmEgv4rg-JXWt3zygTOonvRtw?e=i5L16E

    Hello,

The schema you’ve marked is the Sitelinks Searchbox Schema. It is not related to the Table of Contents.

However, Rank Math includes this schema automatically on your homepage. If you want to apply this schema to all of your pages, please add the following filter on your website:

    add_filter( 'rank_math/json_ld/disable_search', '__return_false' );

Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/

For more details on Sitelinks Searchbox Schema, you can check this URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/sitelinks-searchbox-schema/

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Could you please share a screenshot with us by using a tool like https://imgur.com/upload so that we can check this further for you?

If you’re referring to the Sitelinks Searchbox Schema, as we already mentioned this schema is only included in your homepage by default. If you want to add this to your entire website, you’ll have to add that filter code.

Also, please note that there is no connection between the Sitelinks Searchbox Schema and your Table of Contents. The Table of Contents in Rank Math includes the SiteNavigationElement Schema which is already added to your page.

We are looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

I am sorry, can you please clarify a screenshot of what would you like me to take?

I will ask my question differently: Google used to show sitelinks on every blog post I have for many years. I noticed that after recent Rank Math’s updates Google doesn’t show any sitelinks at all. Google still show my competitors sitelinks. I didn’t do any changes to my site. What can I do to make Google show my sitelinks again?

    Thanks.

Sitelinks search box schema is shown on a page that is not a homepage.

    Hello,

The links below the search results that you showed in your screenshot don’t come from the TOC block or from any Schema markup.

Those are automated by the Google algorithm and can include any page on the website that is set to index.

Here’s an article that explains what those are and explicitly states that they are automated: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/sitelinks

Please note that Sitelinks and Sitelinks Searchbox are two different things.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Understood. Thank you.

Can you please explain how and why there is sitelinks searchbox schema here: https://1drv.ms/i/s!AqEf9YmEgv4rg-JXWt3zygTOonvRtw?e=i5L16E

    It’s not a homepage.

    Hello,

The site in the screenshot is using Yoast. Yoast adds the Sitelinks Searchbox Schema to the whole site, while our plugin adds it only to the homepage. If you want the Schema to be applied to your whole site, please add the filter shared by my colleague to your site: https://support.rankmath.com/ticket/table-of-content-schema-doesnt-work/?view=all#post-788103

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
